Seriously? Another mission where we’ve gotta sneak around? Hopefully I get a chance to let loose, again. he thought as he slumped back in his seat. However, when he heard that he’d be masquerading as a bodyguard, he perked up a bit. He would definitely make a better bodyguard than rich kid. Sure, he had no acting experience whatsoever, but he was confident he’d be able to at least pull off an intimidating bodyguard better than a spoiled brat. “At least as a bodyguard, I’ll have a chance to knock some heads together if it comes to it,” he spoke up. He leaned back in his seat and added, “But, I wanna make one thing clear: I’m not bottom-rung anything.” After that, he let the others speak up, chuckling at Pei’s antics. The others were definitely posing good questions, ones that he never would have thought of in a million years. When Will asked about who was guarding who, Vincent’s mind immediately went back to the last mission and his failure. He let Daphne get captured. Sure, it was to save Cora, but it was still his fault, at least in his mind, that Daphne ended up as Deathstroke’s hostage. How he was able to get his hands on KJ. Before he realized it, he raised his hand and said, “Unless you guys are gonna pair us up, I wanna be the one to watch Daphne’s back. I wanna make up for what happened last time.” He glanced over at Viktor and Daphne as he spoke. Given what had happened on the last mission and the fact that the two of them are together, he would understand if either one had an issue and if it looked like they did, he would retract his offer. Still, he felt like he wouldn’t be able to move past his failure if he didn’t at least try.
