Sabine admittedly went into a relationship with April for a shallow reason, but in the time she got to know her Sabine really cared for April, especially as Sabine could recognize a kindred spirit with anxiety troubles. After April broke up with Sabine she got into a dark place, mainly because she felt she was to blame for how April felt. The two of them have reconciled and have grown stronger from it. Leah - Sabine and Leah first met at school and butted heads almost instantly. Sabine was annoyed by Leah's presence, made all the more complicated when the two of them were placed as roommates. Sabine and Leah had a tentative frienemies relationship until they both had a heart-to-heart in which they shared their family trauma. Afterwards, the two grew closer, eventually becoming girlfriends along with April. After April ended things Sabine and Leah grew much closer to the point Sabine can potentially see a future with Leah involved. Danni - Danni and Sabine have been besties from the get-go. Sabine finds herself somewhat annoyed with Danni at times, but he has been there for her on multiple occasions and has helped her out of many a funk she was in. It was Danni who initially helped Sabine realize she could fit in at the new school and helped her see that it was worth a try. Even when she makes a mistake Danni is quick to jump to her defense. Dorian - Sabine and Dorian initially did not like each other, but remained cordial due to their mutual friendship with Danni. This was made all the more complicated with Dorian's distrust of telepaths. The two of them talked through it after being teamed up from the start, both opening up and coming to better terms. Even after the events with Arcade, Dorian and Sabine got through it and the two have trusted each other ever since. Percy - Sabine has grown fond of Percy to the point of protection and an almost sibling-like bond. Sabine initially did not like Percy's attitude but his relationship with Dorian has shown some growth within him. Percy has helped Sabine in some instances that have turned things in her favor and Sabine can recognize the potential in Percy. Andy - Sabine was instantly rude to Andy for no other reason than Sabine's own inability to make friends with someone new. The rocky relationship started off from the beginning, but the two have spoken and made amends. While Sabine may be hesitant to call Andy a best friend, the two are friendly and can work together nicely. Victoria - Sabine did not trust Vicki until the two of them were forced into a psychic bond with each other. He was yelling at her for her poor schoolwork when she kept thinking, hoping he would forget about it. Sure enough, he stopped yelling and asked what she wanted from him. She showed him her grades again and he got upset, saying the same thing. She practiced again, willing him to forget, and he did. With practice, she was able to determine she could manipulate people's memories as well as see memories from objects or other people simply by touching them. [/hider] [Hider=General History] Born in Lyon, France, the Bassards were a wealthy, influential family with fingers in many pies that ranged from politics to the arts. Sabine was born as the only child and sole heir to their name until tragedy struck and Sabine lost her mother, Giselle, in an accident. Distraught and broken, Sabine's father, Remmy, threw himself into his work, where he met Cosette. The two fell in love and got married rather quickly. Cosette had two children of her own from a previous marriage. Sabine hated them all. Remmy made the decision to move to the United States when Sabine was 12 years old. The transition was relatively easy as Sabine had learned English in school. She also made a name for herself being an attractive blonde girl. Sabine's family were often too busy to interact with her and left the children to be looked after by staff. This allowed Sabine the freedom to do what she wanted, often getting into trouble and needing her family's wealth to bail her out. It was during this free time that she discovered her powers of manipulating memories and seeing memories of the past. Sabine used this power sparingly at first until she was attacked by a boy at school. She saved herself by causing the boy to forget who he was, which caused a panic attack leading to the boy being hospitalized. Rumors spread that she caused the attack. Unsatisfied that her reputation took such a hit, she researched other schools and found the Avengers Academy. She decided that she wanted to learn to control her powers to prevent dangers in the future. She auditioned for the school and got accepted. She took the opportunity to rebrand herself, never allowing others to know more about her than she intended. [/hider]
