Naming conventions wouldn't exist for Lune's Shelf—most residents within Thall moved there from other lands. For the Cascades, naming conventions are atypical, but the first member of any family to carry a specific first name is suffixed with '-ur', whereas descendants who take the name thereafter are suffixed with '-ora'. They are typically only addressed by their suffixless first name, unless among other Cascadian ylva. No one is quite sure when this convention began, but it does seem to be a sticking point within the rivalry between the Alenjas and Bhelvilles.
