It seems that they were all planning to team up. It was smart, even if one of them was some blackmailer or murderer, it stood to reason that not everyone here was up to something nefarious and now that all, or at least most, of the cards were on the table, it meant they were all at the same level.

Plus, with each of them watching the other, it meant that if something did happen to one of them, blame would fall on the person they were paired with. Except for Sam, which was interesting.
