I never would’ve thought of this concept myself and yet seeing it in action, it feels like the comic RP equivalent of peanut butter and jam. What a fun ride. My only exposure to Vigilante before this were his appearances in JLU and a handful of Golden Age Seven Soldiers stories (which I read mainly for GA and Speedy), so as far as what’s basically a first intro goes, this was stellar. Your voice for him in Part One feels so natural, I could [i]hear[/i] him tell this story. Your prose for both Vig and Blade is effortlessly descriptive and full of character, their voices are so distinct from each other despite being in first person — something I feel I’d struggle with, and so really admire in your own writing. You mention in your author’s notes (great idea by the way, I might do some myself) that you’re worried about the pacing, but there was no issue there on my end. Both parts passed by lightning quick and flowed from each other without a hitch. I’m also really enjoying the current balance of horror and action — it’s not an exact comparison by any means, but there’s a similar atmosphere to Resident Evil 4, to me at least: visceral and foreboding but packed to the brim with bombastic, well-executed action. I could read a hundred more of these and walk away wanting more. Let Vig and Blade know they’re welcome in Star City if they ever need an extra hunter on the team.

I really loved this one. Wanda and Pietro have a really compelling dynamic, Pietro’s protectiveness and love for her comes across as so endearing and heartwarming. Their push and pull over their decision to accept or decline Strange’s help was great. Ultimately I’m loving this so far and I’m excited to see where Wanda’s journey to control her magic takes her, especially with the spectre of the twins’ past still looming near.

I wasn’t expecting Lexa to be a Danvers, talk about a reveal to drop on us at the start of your post! If “Cara” means what I think it means, I’m gonna need more Superman posts yesterday. Chop chop. Can’t wait to see how that develops. I loved Clark’s characterisation in this one, too — his concern and empathy for Volcana was perfect, and the way he bumbled through his conversation with Lisa is so charming. Really intrigued by what he’s going to talk to Lex about + their underlying history, which I’m assuming I’ll get to see a bit of in your next post!

I love it when I’m right. I really liked the subversion of the Luthor Vehicular Manslaughter event. I wasn’t expecting it to be Lionel who Clark pulled out of the car, and I’m curious about the implications of that going forward. As for Lex and Clark’s conversation, when I was picturing the scene in my head, all I saw was Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling; like I was looking into a world where instead of [i]Smallville[/i], we got [i]Metropolis[/i] — or would they have just called it Superman? My point is that it was a treat and I loved it a lot. Hopes and prayers for Lexa RIP queen

Shoutout to General Ross, he’s a dickhead but I can’t help but like him in spite of it, the minor bouts of sympathy he lends Bruce go a long way in humanising him. Of these first two posts, he’s been the unexpected highlight for me so far! I’m very curious about where Rick will fit into all this, too, and I’m ESPECIALLY curious about the melding of science and the supernatural regarding Hulk’s origins. To that end, I have no idea who Tala is, but I’m excited to see what her schemes mean for Bruce and the rest of our cast. As for the next post, man I loved that — the insight into Betty and Bruce’s shared past, Betty processing Bruce’s accident and her feelings for him, all building up to the kiss. Cinema

I can’t really overstate how much I love the opening and closing ramblings of these posts. They’re so oddly playful and cryptic, and do such a great job at building up the mystery of the House even further. I’m getting a huge kick out of the descriptiveness of your posts, too, oozing in detail but never jarringly so, it’s a treat being able to picture the House so clearly and through such an emotive lens via the sprinklings of John’s internal thoughts. It’s been said already but I loved the references to all the other characters, too. I’ve mentioned how much I dig this premise already, but seeing you set it up for the crossovers this way gets me particularly giddy. I’m excited to get the ball rolling on our collab and have Ollie share in the horrors a little bit!

The mystery prologue narrator returns! Really loved this part in particular; learning more about their circumstances and especially their resolve in the face of insurmountable odds. I have a feeling I know who it is, but until it’s confirmed I’m going to keep enjoying piecing it all together. Your voice for Sif remains a highlight, I continue to love the way she processes Midgard through her own experiences on Asgard (“Guardsmen and Warriors” “new weapons the mortals had” etc). I read your posts back to back so I didn’t have much time to chew on what Jackie meant by Thor’s axe before diving into some fun action with Juggernaut. Dude has a real potty mouth. Thor’s (apparent?) triumphant return is interesting and raises some red flags for me — I’m curious to see if they’re justified or if I just need to relax!

I have NO clue who Box is outside of this game, so this was a great first impression — a really fun intro to Bochs and his crew. I really enjoyed his and Puck’s banter, and watching their little heist unfold was super entertaining. The crew dynamic post-heist was also really enjoyable, I loved the little moment of Puck telling Bochs to keep at the truck’s lock and rest of the crew silently agreeing in unison. I’m a sucker for heist stories so this is right up my alley, and I’m keen for more! Great stuff :)

Maaaaaan. The contrast between Emma and Scott’s wedding day and their tense relationship now is so juicy and [i]so[/i] good. There’s a bittersweet resignation in every word between them throughout their present day conversation, I honest to god ached reading it. I mentioned it on Discord but this exchange in particular really stung, cutting right to both Scott’s and my core. I absolutely loved it:

Ah-hem. JESSICA [b]GODDAMN[/b] JONES! [i]Hell[/i] yes. Hell. Yes. Not the character I was expecting but man if she wasn’t a welcome surprise. The reveal that Emma’s already a step ahead of Scott’s investigation into Sinister made a whole lot of sense and still took me by surprise. The reveal that the girl she’s been mourning is her daughter put a lot of things into context, and got me even more on board with whatever she has going on than I already was. I really enjoyed her and Jess’ little friendship, too. For some reason I really want to reread Alias now. Can’t wait for more!!

Reunited and it feels SO good. I loved this one so much, dude. Jake and Marc’s characterisation is so on-point, and dare I say you’re the first person to make me see the merit in a British Steven Grant. The flashback to some of the abuse the system experienced as kids was heartbreaking, I feared the worst for Marc and Randall the entire time. A moment that really touched me was a little before it all went down, when Marc and Jake first entered the house, Jake saying “If you wanna go, we can find a way outta here” — their care for each other is palpable throughout the entire post, but this line is where I felt it the most; the other instance being when they reunite with Steven, all of them embracing and squeezing each other in relief. Great stuff as always, I only wish you didn’t need to work or sleep so you could write these things faster.
