It was boring, however, for the unapproachable Omnic to sit among the ranks of his peers in silence without a mouth or necessary biology to participate in the Christmas feast. Not to mention, he was concerned with the origin of Gleaming, having had a proper chance to investigate Layton’s mental state under Galeem’s power. The man still appeared to be under his own will, but the thought of traveling with an ally under the control of another was irksome to Ramattra- to say the least. Tenna however, still appeared in high spirits for the celebration, and jumped from conversation to conversation as often as he could. “Oh! What a wonderful detour…” He sighed peacefully, now looking at the cat-like figure who had introduced himself not too far from the festivities. The Omnic nodded disgruntledly, deciding to humor the CRT. “Yes. It is very ‘holly and jolly’ here. But the sooner we rid ourselves of that creature, the sooner we can defeat the guardian we’re seeking.” Tenna frowned for a moment. Ramattra looked over, almost confused by the TV-Host’s sudden change in mood. While he didn’t care enough to ask what was bothering his once joyful demeanor, that didn’t mean he was going to cruel to the Darkner. “It’s just… I’ve had the chance to leave the Seekers for about a day and a half now. That little village before and now here… They were both lively! And fun!” Ramattra saw where this was going almost immediately. “Ah. Having conflicting thoughts towards our cause?” The little TV-Man looked at the Omnic almost pitifully as he nodded dramatically. Before Sectonia had released Tenna’s mind from Galeem’s influence, he had originally agreed to travel with the Seekers until they arrived at civilization between their destination route. But now, with his mind free and the knowledge that his world somehow still existed… “I want to HELP! But that wasn’t why I joined you guys… I still want to be famous again!!” It was an odd mindset, but Ramattra really hoped that the temporary festivities did not dishearten Tenna. They really needed all the help they can get, and building reinforcements regardless if Gerudo, Human, or Darkner. The Christmas Village was becoming too cozy, and now the Omnic was becoming fearful the others may share Tenna’s desire to stay should they reside longer. “Then why not make more… erm… ‘friends’? You can create shadow troops, yes? And our peer Edward can make those rock monsters. Why not find popularity in your followers?” The idea translated decently enough. Tenna could make more friends for the Seekers! Of course! But it would be really difficult to rehire all of his old employees… Tenna gave Ramattra a rose as a sign of appreciation, a gesture that struck the Omnic as odd, but he accepted regardless to keep the TV-Host happy, silently discarding the flower under the table. “What was inside your present, Ramattra!” Tenna asked cheerfully as he propped his wrapped gift onto the table. In all honesty, The Omnic had forgotten about the mysterious present that Tenna had delivered earlier. Retrieving it from his pocket, Ramattra examined the exterior packaging, a classic red, green, and gold foil wrapped around it. While Edward and Layton managed the Ice King, he supposed he had time to examine its contents. There was also no possible way to avoid chaos by fighting his minions. No point in being a sour puss over small gifts, Ramattra guessed. The two began tearing (or at least in Ramattra’s case; delicately picking away the wrapping) into their gifts. It can theoretically be used to identify other creatures, but new data would have to be written to its database from an external source; it does not generate new entries upon registering new creatures
Ramattra examined the devices with intrigue and suspicion. There was no note explaining what he had been given, but they were clearly correlated with one another… Somehow. He did his best to click the device open without damaging it. The machine came to life, cataloguing thousands, if not more, numbered entries. The device was clearly technologically dated compared to what Ramattra was used to, but perhaps it’s use could be revealed later. The orb, however, was able to connect some of the missing dots that could clue Ramattra into what it’s function was. Wasn’t this one of those capture spheres he’s seen his allies use and stored in Edward’s Armory? Examining it revealed that it bore a similar appearance like he thought, which meant this odd device he got was related to creatures. Somehow… This would require some investigation. Ramattra highly doubted there was anyone familiar with its origin. Tenna was joyous to receive such a stylish addition to his wardrobe and quickly adorned his breast with the new crest he received. Immediately, he was surrounded by three odd-looking spider-like creatures, that curiously- and mindlessly- looked up at their new master. Being the odd nature that he is, Tenna immediately felt fond of his new minions. “Friends…” He muttered, now having three more allies at his command. While the rest of the group settled the dispute with the catty Ice King, Ramattra investigated the contents of the device to the best of his ability; navigating menus, blank entries, and other features. What he found was that this device could scan creatures, though most creatures he scanned prompted an error, as if it didn’t recognize their biology whatsoever. He went from beast to beast, checking whether or not the Pokedex could recognize any nearby animals. He had some luck when he returned to the stable the Stagecoach had previously rested alongside. There were an assortment of other Reindrixes kept in the stables along with regular reindeer by the townsfolk for Christmas shenanigans, but one of the magnificent reindeer beasts they kept actually registered it’s data into the device! It began chirping with a high-pitched robotic voice, revealing that it was “Wyrdeer! The Big Horn Pokemon! The black orbs shine with an uncanny light when the Pokémon is erecting invisible barriers. The fur shed from its beard retains heat well and is a highly useful material for winter clothing!” “Oh. That voice is annoying. Is there a way for me to turn that off?” A quick adjustment to the settings shut the Pokedex voice off, allowing for Ramattra to examine the data at his own pace. Picky. It seemed that there was still data missing from the entry, however. Was there another requirement to completing this beasts data. The realization struck. “This is a device for cataloguing those ‘Pokemon’ creatures? Like Roxas has? Fascinating…” For the rest of White Team’s wait, Ramattra spent the evening exploring the village and nearby woods for any other creatures bearing similar fantasy-like appearances that Pokemon seemed to have. There were more misses as he blindly scanned any creature that wasn’t from his world, but a small festively dressed mouse creature dancing for snacks from nearby feast-goers seemed to finally earn Ramattra a second entry for the evening. The light from the device’s scanner startled the yellow Pokemon. “Pika pika?” It chirped quizically as the green projection highlighted it. “Erm. My apologies. Just using my Christmas present.” The end of Ramattra’s investigation took him out of the village’s safety for a moment, as he crept through the brushes of nearby trees, particularly through the ones that he, Edward, and Ganondorf had helped clear. Through the thick fog of snow, a small congregation of santa-like birds migrated away from the icestorm that Ramattra assumed destroyed their nest. Trying his best not to disturb the creatures, the Omnic made his scan quick, reading the data as soon as he returned to the festively dressed table where the feast was held. Why was cataloguing creatures so intriguing for the Omnic and what use could he get out of the orb that his gift provided as well?
