They were spoiled and spent most of their early life in a bubble of family beliefs. (more here discussion with GMs on family life, relationship with parents and siblings) They were educated classically. (more education information here, higher education leading to their love of technology) Katya went into the factories, this was the start of their downfall. Katya started to recognize the disparity between their life and the life of the masses. Because of that Katya became a [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_movement#:~:text=%22Organized%20labor%22%20and%20%22Union,of%20directors%20of%20their%20employers.]Labourist.[/url] After this Katya also struggled with the Blood of Bathory more, since she was afraid to exploit people she went to the bare minimum of blood that she could. They sometimes played chicken with the disease and slid below the recommended allotment. Katya started a minor rebellion in the family’s factory trying to encourage the workers to create a union. (what happened with the rebellion? A friend? Lover? Died during the rebellion? Someone related to Katya? Maybe the heir. ) Katya was forbidden from returning to the factories, they were cut off from anyone that Katya met in the factory. Katya had a few arguments with their father. He gave them an ultimatum. Katya’s options were to be moved to the capital and get married or go on the expedition. Despite being afraid of her own mortality Katya decided to go on the expedition. They hated the idea of being forced to marry someone more, especially since they’d have no choice in who that was. For all that Katya thinks herself worldly and educated they have not spent much time in the real world. They wouldn’t know how to survive without the structures of society that she is railing against. (some more details about this) Katya is extremely opinionated and critical, especially of her family, the government and society. They disapprove of anything that smacks of exploitation. Katya hates that they are dependent on blood, and will sometimes wait as long as possible before consuming. They have learned that most of their opinions are not acceptable by their family. As such Katya has a ‘family/public’ face and opinion. However, if they are with people that they trust and know would not report them; Katya will share their real opinion. They like to think that there is a path for redemption for the government, but they don’t believe that fully. Privately Katya believes the whole system will need to be destroyed before a better world can grow. [u]The Ivory Disobedience Movement[/u] - Privately Katya approves of this group. They think that this group has the right idea. If they thought they could have gotten away with joining and helping them Katya absolutely would. Publicly Katya would claim that the people’s rights are important, it is vital to go through the right channels and not cause damage or disruptions. Katya will expressly say, publicly, that the disruption of the Blood Maids is most damaging. In their heart Katya thinks ‘damaging to their reputation and that they may get more support if they didn’t do such actions.’ [u]The Court of Iron[/u] - Depravity, and cruelty is all this organization stands for. They do not care for human lives and that angers Katya. Katya is vocally against this group, much to her family’s chagrin. [u]Smog Runners[/u] - Privately “Workers unite!” These people are vital for society to function and should be treated with more respect and paid better.
