This may be messy, may be not messy. The background is a bit long, and may not be the best. Hope you like him though! (also, thank GOD for Picrew for the main appearance image)
"I-... this hero stuff's more drainin' than I thought, man... Well, at least the mask is a bit of a confidence boost!" Age: 19 Appearance: A rather short, er... person? He's quite androgynous, it's a little hard to tell sometimes. A bit lanky as well. His hair is usually just messy and some of it is lazily put up in a bun. It's a dark-ish blonde and neck length, but, despite how messy it looks, it's always nicely clean. He dresses in a loose, brown suit. Usually with a black undershirt and tie. He wears socks and sandals all the time (weirdo), and standard square glasses. He is usually very tired looking, sometimes even looking completely dead inside. His skin is very light tan, matched with some admittedly really nice, golden eyes. Quite a few marks are hidden from the hero work, notably a large burn scar on his right arm and other places. Although, those specific ones didn't seem to be from heroism... Role at SDN: Hero. Not the best. But a hero. Background: Life was never particularly kind to Quinn. For starters, he always felt like he was born in the wrong body (which caused him to start calling himself... well, himself), but that never stuck with other people. He had, and still has, some pretty low self confidence and was always nervous about things, always... overthinking in the worst ways possible. However, nothing made him feel worse about himself than the fact that his mother died shortly after giving birth to him, which made him believe he was a burden to his father and the rest of the family. Especially after he explained his... distaste with his own body, which they didn't take kindly to. He never really lost hope, always looking up to the heroes he would see performing their duties around where he lived. Like any child would. He would usually find comfort in darker places, considering he was a bit of an outcast at the school he went to. They seemed to... resonated with him; eventually fostering in powers of his own. Naturally, this scared the living hell out of him the first few times he noticed shadows moving to his touch. But he eventually found it rather entertaining, even making a friend out of the shadows. He was content with it, but he never told his family about it, he didn't want to scare them or anything. Around when he was 12, a fire had started near his house due to currently unknown circumstances. It spread to his and a few houses next to it. He luckily (or unluckily, depending how one would look at it.) survived with only a few burns. The same couldn't be said for most caught in the blaze, including his family. He was admitted into a local orphanage after a few months recovering. There, he didn't really make any friends still, but he did end up talking to and forming somewhat of a relationship with a few of the people there. He had quite the fear of fire after all of that. Eventually, he'd do some vigilante work very secretly, he thought it'd be "fun" to use his powers like all the people he looked up to. It... didn't work out well at first, but he got the hang of it. He would later move into an apartment of his own at the age of 18 after doing some hard work as a cashier at a local store. It was a pretty shitty apartment though, and still kinda is. From there, he'd resume some light vigilante work again. He would, of course, get a call or two.. or three... he missed a lot of calls, alright?- from SDN. Later dispatched at the local-ish Claremont SDN Offices after a surprisingly good interview. (he totally wasn't sweating bullets the entire time)
Appearance: He dawns a dark grey hoodie over a mainly black and white typical super hero suit, topped off with a paper plate mask with a poorly drawn smiley face on it. He usually keeps the hood up and wears some lightweight, black and white boots to match the suit. (It also seems to give him a bit of a good confidence boost, but doesn't really stop him from being a little nervous and cowardly.) Powers: Looks to be basic shadow manipulation with a shadow pardner to boot! He can usually be seen talking to it, they seem to be pretty close. The shadows can be used as easy leg trappers, tendrils, or even small weapons/tools. It's pretty limited depending on how much shadow he has to work with. Although, none of that seems to help his nerves. He usually uses his powers at a range, only going up close if the other person does it first in a fight.
Likes: - Dark corners - Bitter stuff - Flowers - Sleeping - Drawing random stuff - Sticking to rules Dislikes: - People - (Ironically) Being alone - Sour food - Loud talking - Fire (a LOT) - Snakes Quirks: - If you can get him to talk to you for a bit, he will tend to yap. A lot. - He has a little pet peeve where if you leave the coffee pot empty, he'll go out of his way to refill it. - He has a LOT of note books that he's doodled in.
