Laelette is a Breton woman with light skin, a fair complexion, and dark brown eyes. She has long, blonde hair that falls to her mid-back. She has a scar along her right shoulder to her collarbone. Laelette typically wears robes and dresses, accompanied by boots and a hood. Her hair is usually worn down or tied into a ponytail. She wears cosmetics in neutral or dark tones.

MOTIVATION AND OUTLOOK

Laelette is a lover of knowledge and often seeks to learn as much as she can about a topic, especially if it involves magic. She sees the pursuit of knowledge as the most enriching thing a person can do. With her past, Laelette views the upper class and the wealthy elite as vile and evil and deserves none of what they earn. Laelette also has a strong moral compass when it comes to those who feel they can bully others or push others down because they assume they are better than them. As such, her morality is more gray than black and white, and she feels that sometimes a person must take justice into their own hands. Laelette is not afraid to back down from a fight, which can get her into trouble.

BACKGROUND

A daughter of a disgraced lord, Laelette grew up with privilege that was taken away from her. As such, she had developed a strong hatred of the upper echelons and a desire to see them face consequences. Inspired by her love of knowledge and the pursuit of magic and the study of it, Laelette put effort into learning all she could and developing her magical attunement. When she came of age, she applied to join the Mage's College to learn more.

Laelette proved to be so into her studies that she often isolated herself. This made her have very few friends and more than one enemy. One such student had decided to make her life hell. The young son of a nobleman, it became evident early on that he deserved little of what he had. After pushing her endlessly, he met the end of her fist, which caused an uproar in the college. Violence against another student was frowned upon, and, given his background, Laelette was promptly expelled.

Fueled by her desire to still learn magic and to seek revenge against the people who feel they are above others, Laelette trained as much as she could while she wandered. Her magical skills grew, and she developed a small reputation for her use of magic in fighting against bandits, slave traders, and vile nobles who treated others as inferior. It was rumored that a nobleman's home was burned down because she set fire to it, though the investigation proved fruitless, and she never confirmed or denied.

Having spent most of her life traveling, she has never had a permanent home. Opting to flee, she found herself in Anvil. Call it fortune or favor, but a ship was bound for parts unknown. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Laelette booked passage, unaware how her life would be altered.

RELATIONSHIPS AND OPINIONS

Camriel Serishel - A high elven son of a noble lord who made Laelette's life in Mage School hell, and whom received a broken nose as a result. In the time since he graduated and has moved on to running his own household. He has never quite forgiven the troublesome Breton.

Delphine - A young girl who resided in a village that Laelette had stayed in briefly. Laelette had noticed Delphine was being abused at home so Laelette took it upon herself to step in, chiding the parents and offering to find the girl a new home. She refused, but a growing power within Delphine was formed and magical capabilities were unlocked. Delphine has since looked up to Laelette as a type of role model.
