Well, that is a success.
However, I will say that Jub's Help includes informing Brutrumukk that the owlbear is a carnivore. The owlbear eats meat...[I]A lot[/i] of meat. 

So, while the Owlbear would eat jerky in the rations, it would ignore the rest of the rations and look for more meat.
