Personality Summary: Despite what his appearance would tell you, he is a soft spoken and a very gentle person. He abhors violence or any unnecessary shows of strength and bluster, rather trying to find more peaceful routes to solutions if force is not required. Magnus is a very curious and intelligent person, the kind that would disassemble a clock just to know how it works and put it back together again. At times he does like machines and moving things more than people; you know how they work it's easy to put them together and fix. People are not like that; you can never tell what they are thinking or feeling at that moment and at times it makes him anxious. After all, he is the son of the ever charismatic and charming Count Pawonska and he is expected to be just like him, something that he carries with him every day. He also abhors people putting themselves in harms ways due to a misguided sense of heroics. The road to hell is paved with good intentions; you may end up hurting yourself and others if you try to be a hero. However, he is fiercely protective of his sisters, and they are the one of the few things to get him to act.
Background
What Kingdom are you from, and what town were you born in?: Varian, Irinaburg Current occupation: Son of Count Sven Pawonska, Mechanical Engineer Any past occupations?: None Relatives: Count Sven Pawonska Countess Kasia Pawonska Elena Pawonska Nora Pawonska Skills: Swordsmanship Marksmanship Riding Magic Automotive Engineer Gunsmith Celloist History Summary: By a miracle of chance three children, triplets, were born one day: Nora, Elena, and Magnus who was the only son of the Pawonska family. Magnus was a quiet, but sweet child, curious of the world around him even at a young age though he was always a bit shy around other kids his age. It would not surprise anyone to find him inside taking apart a clock or a bicycle just to know how it worked rather than adventuring out into the world. Once he was old enough to wield a sword, Magnus' and his siblings' training began. It was apparent that Magnus had an affinity for combat, a great affinity, but he held no love for it. The only reason he trained was because his father and mother would praise him for a job well done and his siblings seemed to enjoy it. Even at a young age, a part of him did it because he knew that it was expected of him. When they reached a certain age he understood why, what their purpose was. Unlike his sister Nora, it did not fill him with excitement because a part of him was dreading having to devote himself to a life of protecting something that he had no say in, but he accepted the responsibility, nonetheless. So, he trained with his siblings, but on his own time he would hide away in the workshop and tinker away while the maintenance worker they employed taught him what he knew. It was one of those moments of respite where he was allowed to grow in ways that were beyond his family's purpose. Then there was the incident, the one with the teddy bear. Where Nora flashed her magic and as a result had to be sent away. Magnus for once in his life yelled and pleaded with his father to bring her home. It was the one time in his life when he refused to train. When Nora returned, he couldn't recognize her. What was once a spark of joy was extinguished and smothered by her experience there. Magnus hated it, hated what their parents did, hated the stupid burden that was shoved upon them, and he hated himself for letting Nora down. So, he devoted himself to becoming stronger not for the hex that ran through their blood, but for his sisters. They would never need to be hurt again as long as he drew breath. When he was seventeen, he entered into higher education as his parents tried to make him into a well-rounded individual and to pursue his passions in which he became a Mechanical Engineer student. He enjoyed his time there, relieved that he could get away from his blood duties even if it was However, one night during his stay he was drugged and kidnapped where a handsome ransom was placed over his head. When he came to, he was in a building far away from his university or any proper city. It was a blur that night, but he heard them. They were making half-jokes about kidnapping his sisters and making comments on what they would do to them. His mind went blank. If you asked him what happened, he will be adamant that he can't remember. When investigators found him, he was stumbly along the road covered in blood. Not his blood. When found where they kept him, they described the scene as 'gruesome, like an angry grizzly bear had been let loose.' With the influence of his father, they deemed it a freak accident. Magnus was offered an academic leave of absence from college after the incident, but he refused, focusing deeper on his studies and training regardless. It was the only thing that kept him sane. Now he has graduated with a job as a mechanical engineer for Varians vehicle and weapons production company. For once, he felt like he was free, but he knew that wasn't true. He was still bound by blood to guarding the damned artifact and that in the end that will supersede whatever direction his life went. Surely, though, if he could not break it then surely, he could lengthen its leash. If not for him, then for his sisters, and their future progeny. Surely, right?
Questionnaire
(in POV of your character) History Did you grow up nurtured or neglected?: "I cannot say that we were neglected, on the contrary, but we were not coddled. There were expectations and we had to exceed them." When you were upset, where was your sanctuary?: "On the estate there was a shed where the handyman would work. I'd go there and tinker, with his permission of course." What were you like in your teenage years?: "I was an obedient child, and I worked hard for the sake of the family." How close are you to your parents?: "We're close, but father's perfectionism can be a cause for tension and with what happened to Nora... It's complicated." Do you have any trauma that haunts you?: "Yes and I'll have to live with them." What advice would you give your younger self?: "Don't jump into unnecessary heroics." Were you an obedient child or defiant?: "I don't think there was much room for defiance, not that I had much desire to." What is your biggest regret?: "That stupid teddy bear." Romance Have you ever been in love?: "Maybe a couple of times?
