Finn, unlike his sister, dealt with the violent awakening very, very differently. Where Trish was volatile and angry, Finn shut down. He learned early that emotions were a trigger and did everything he could to kill his. He watched his sister's pain, felt his own, and couldn't take the heat. Trish explodes and Finn dissociates. Trish is a live wire, Finn is a cut cable, wrapped in insulation so thick it barely registers as human anymore. Finn is deeply observant and takes a long time to formulate his thoughts. He's slow to open up to others and rarely allows himself to be put in situations where he might get emotional.

Finn has mastered the art of appearing calm. Not true serenity, not peace, just absence. He doesn't laugh loudly. He speaks softly, slowly, intentionally. He does not get angry. He doesn't ever want anything. Wanting leads to feelings and feelings lead to heat. Heat is the enemy. He mistakes numbness for control and calls it maturity.

Underneath, the fire is still there. Ever present, compressed and gaining pressure. His ignitions don't happen often, but when they do, they are devastating. They are sudden, forced, and eerily silent. No warnings, no flares, just catastrophic release.

Finn was inducted alongside his sister with much the same rush. However, unlike her, he revels in the structure Corinthia provides. He seeks out praise and critique alike. He asks for very little and gives all that is asked of him. The only time he has been known to explode was when someone insinuated that he wouldn't react, even if Trish died in front of him. Folks have given him a fairly wide berth since then. There's a part of him that likes it that way.
