Not all witches come from long, august bloodlines. Some are sparks in the night, unpredictable. Hazel is one such witch. Born to a London family with no connections whatsoever to the supernatural, Hazel grew up absolutely normal. Breezing through life with no special talents except some competitive swimming, she went up to her grandmother’s house in York for a family vacation that turned tragic.

She went in the river for some practice, but it was running high and fast that day. Too high and too fast for her to get back to shore. They pulled out two days later, and buried her back at home. A flower that was cut down before it had a chance to fully bloom, never learning that she was a witch in the first place

That should have been the end of it. Operative word being [b]should[/b].

Decades later, lightning struck her grave, reacting with dark energies still in her corpse. Her spirit rose. wraithlike, her memories of life still fuzzy. Something calling to her to a place she had never been, a house she had never heard of, yet still knew its name by heart. [b]Corinthia[/b].

Due to the method of her passing, she has an absolute phobia of water.

Hazel’s spirit is on the mortal plane, but her soul is not. It’s somewhere else, lost. Without it, any mind control or possession effects against her automatically succeed.

Hazel first manifests when the Hedge Witches of Corinthia are brought together. Their combined power allows them to gain access to Hazel who is trapped in this limbo, without her soul, desperate to be reunited with all the elements of herself. Her presence and spiritual energy is extremely powerful, intriguing the Hedge Witches of Corinthia. Could she be a key to unlock more objectives for the Resurgence?
