Fate/Aggressive Negotiations - A Class Card-based Holy Grail War Game We have not heard the last of Snowfield... I. Intro The year is 2026; more than a decade since the False Holy Grail War in Snowfield, Nevada put the city in danger of complete destruction. Since then, the country has gone through much, but Snowfield was left to recover from its brush with doom, insulated from the wider goings-on in the United States of America and people's opinions of those goings-on. New stakeholders have swooped in to save the land from economic ruin, some working with the indegenous tribes that had protected the area for centuries, others planning a repeat of old mistakes: After seventeen years, a Second Snowfield Holy Grail War is prepared to ignite. However, steps were taken to prevent unauthorized escalation unlike in the past: Instead of Servants, there are Class Cards, special Mystic Codes/Magic Items that grant people the power of Heroic Spirits without having to deal with their independent agenda. These Class Cards are bound to a 'Card User', a being who does not necessarily have to be a Magus or even Human, and the ones who set up this Holy Grail War have made it so that the only way to win is for the Card Users not to kill each other, but rather to give up their Class Card after losing a battle... and they can choose whether to give the Class Card to someone other than the one who defeated them. Not just that, but the defeated 'Card User' not only gets teleported away from the battlefield, but unlocks the power of Sponsorship, which allows them to give 'gifts' to the remaining players, such as information on the locations of Leylines or the strengths and weakesses of their foes, or deliveries of 'Mana Batteries' and other materials for Magecraft. The goal of all this? Well, this part remains the same: The winner of the Holy Grail War, the one who takes his foe's Class Cards, can summon the 'omnipotent' Holy Grail, a wish-granting construct that would grant the winner's deepest desires assuming there is a method to accomplish it. In a world going mad, wouldn't you take the chance, go to Snowfield, and fight the others for a wish?
You guys have not seen the last of me either, so here's the summary: I am running a Fate RP where you don't have to kill your opponent and trying to do so will 1.) fail, and 2.) risk them giving someone else their Class Card anyway. Also, if you lose, you get to keep playing as your PC gets to watch the remaining contestants and vote to give them gifts. I am looking for two Co-GMs, not just to fill in for me if I am incapacitated but also to comb through sheets to find overpowered stuff people might unintentionally add to their characters, as well as play the NPC that PCs who lost negotiate with in order to give the remaining contestants gifts: Kid Gilgamesh, whom I've decided is best to be an NPC than outright banned.
Rules: 1.) No Gilgamesh (and Kiddie Gil is an NPC), Enkidu, Karna (Except as a Rider or Archer), or Heracles. No King Hassan, Alcides, and Quirinus, either. Or Merlin. Basically, if it's as powerful as any of the listed Servants, it is forbidden for Players' PC choices. 2.) No Powergaming or Godmoding. Metagaming is allowed only if you have Divination Magecraft or other forms of 'flawless' info-gathering. 3.) Be nice to others as well as the GM and Co-GMs. 4.) Players who leave or drop out will have their characters controlled by the GM and Co-GMs, and yes, players who go inactive after their PCs are defeated will be counted as 'dropped out' and having given up their Class Cards to the Winner. Same to those who suddenly 'ghost' in the middle of a battle with a player who is still acitve; they count as lost. 5.) Dead Apostles (aka Vampires) are allowed as PC choices, along with Mixed-Bloods. If it appeared in Fate/Strange Fake, chances are its allowed (unless it's a False Divine Spirit or 'New Human'). 6.) Classes are Saber, Lancer, Rider, Archer, Caster, Assassin, Berserker, Shielder, and Avenger, which means 9 player slots overall. 7.) Once all 9 Slots are filled, you can ask for a 'Reserve Player Slot'. 8.) From now on, all New Character Sheets require 3 Approvals from the Main GM and Co-GMs to be fully permitted to play. Also, Co-GMs can override or put a moratorium on Main GM decisions if they feel like they are bad for the game itself.
