🄱🄴🄰🅂🅃🄸🄰🅁🅈
This Beastiary can be built over time. It’s not an exhaustive record of all monsters in the Continents. Any suggestions welcome! Whilst Beasts and Monsters are not the main focal point of this RP, they do add to the Realm we are inhabiting. Monsters will behave as creatures in the Animal Kingdom would IRL. Most are predators.
ꜱᴀɴᴅᴡᴏʀᴍ - The Dezert Continent - A giant, blind worm with a cavernous mouth framed with rows of razor sharp teeth. The Sandworm’s diet consists of anything it comes across in the Dezert. An omnivore that communicates and “sees” with infrasound. Due to its size, Sandworms are extremely difficult to take down. It’s best to avoid / flee if ever faced with one. Rumour has it that the best way to destroy a Sandworm is from the inside. ᴀɴᴋʜᴇɢꜱ - The Dezert Continent - Ankhegs are large, insectoid ambush predator. Resembling 10-foot-long, many-legged creatures with armored carapaces, they burrow underground to ambush prey, crushing victims with powerful mandibles and spraying acidic, digestive enzymes. Resistant to most attacks except fire. ꜱᴀɴᴅᴡᴀʟᴋᴇʀ - The Dezert Continent - Lost souls of the Dezert who walk again amongst the sand. Undead. Have the ability to appear, disappear and reappear as their molecular composition is majority sand. Their weakness is water and powerful blasts such as bombs/high winds. Hamadryads are born within and live within ancient trees. They are mischievous, conniving and alluring. Their song, enchanting to the human ear, lures their prey deep into the Forest to perish. Harvesting from Dryads is a dangerous game to play but those successful can brew enchanting potions to seduce and subdue. ʟᴇꜱʜʏ - The Planes - Often described with bark-like skin, green hair and no shadow. It can shift size from towering over treetops to shrinking smaller than a blade of grass. Leshy protect the Forest and, so long as their habitat is unthreatened, they are not aggressive. Leshy are sentient and can communicate with humans, albeit with limited vocabulary. If provoked, Leshy will wrap their branch-like limbs around their victims and squeeze. ᴀᴘᴏᴘʜɪꜱ - The Planes - A Giant Serpent that inhabits large tree trunks, preying on forest wanderers and other forest dwelling creatures. Its skin can be sold for a small fortune and its teeth are worn by proud Apophis slayers. Apophis venom is lethal and is often harvested by Mages for potions. An arrow dipped in Apophis venom is a weapon wielded by soldiers of the Planes. ʟʏᴄᴀɴ - The Mountaines, The Antartik & The Planes - Unlike werewolves, Lycans do not possess human qualities. They are, in fact, simply a wolf mutation. More bloodthirsty and stronger than the wolf we all know, Lycans move terrifyingly quickly and have jaws that can easily break through bones. Their pelts can be sold for a high price. If left to sleep, they can be easily avoided. However, when awoken, they are aggressive and irritable. ᴡʏᴠᴇʀɴ - The Mountaines - A wyvern is a winged reptilian creature, distinct from a traditional dragon by having only two legs (often bird-like) and two wings. Long, serpentine necks, venomous barbed tails, and are smaller than dragons. The people of Kunlun are the only humans to learn how to tame Wyverns and mount them. They now make up a corp of the Kunlun army. ᴛᴜᴜɴʙᴀQ - The Antartik - A large white bear, comparable to the common Polar Bear but with a Grizzly temper. Tunnbaqs can be tamed if raised from a cub but they solely inhabit the Antartik and are a rare sighting. They often move undetected through blizzards and snow storms.
