Even after that the Kobold stabbed it a few more times for good measure, while the others glanced to the side where the other adventurers had been, wary of retaliation for this death. When they saw only more headless corpses, they breathed a sigh of relief, and when Zogi burst into a victory cheer they were the ones to join in. The ent drumming on its wooden chest with its great fists, the Kobold yipping with delight and the Naga giving Zoppy a tight squeeze of a hug before chanting ‘meat meat meat!” in anticipation of the feast that they’d be having tonight. It was this raucous celebration that informed the Oracle that things had come to an end, because it was still trying to recover from its double discombobulation. It withdrew its head from its sky high view and back into the corridor its body was in. This helped with its sense of position a lot, and so by the time the others were reviewing the battle it had enough of its senses together to join them. It was in agreement with the whole watch idea, adding that “Our faithful servants must be spared from such a duty, tired as they were from their time under the hateful sun” “Yes, those wretched invaders will know our tricks now, so we must swiftly expand our defenses once more with the boons we have gained from their demise!” It also agreed with Schnupfen before approaching the guillotine shrine and laying a hand upon it. “You have done well, o sacred executioner, but I fear you shall not take them by surprise again” it said with quiet reverence. On top of being, well, a shrine, it also had the highest killcount out of anything in the dungeon and it was entirely questionable if they would have succeeded without it. The Oracle held its hand for a long moment, before withdrawing it and returning to its bombast as it declared “Still, if they have learned to fear you, then we must take advantage of that fear! They will cower beyond your reach, where we may strike from afar, and then they will rush through in a panic, where they shall blunder into your fellows!” Of course, they’d need more traps for that, and so the Oracle prepared to head into the dungeon core to start rolling for resources once again.
