During the summer of her tenth year, she was walking along the rocks that acted as a breaker for the waves when she slipped on a particularly slippery one and fell. She screamed—loudly—but no one heard her due to the roaring waves. She thought of her father and cried out to him over and over while the waves pulled her under. A telepathic wave went out, and Brain Braddock heard his daughter immediately before coming to her rescue. After, she was sent to Xavier’s school for Gifted Youngsters to be trained first before returning home six years later to be trained by her father.[/hider] [Hider=General History][hider=Before]Luna Elizabeth Braddock was born to Brian Braddock and Meggan Puceanu-Braddock in Cornwall on February 28. The day was rather unremarkable, but the child born was anything but. She had an aptitude for anything mechanical and learned how to put things together before she could walk. Although she didn’t show any signs of mutant ability until she was several years older, she was the apple of her parents' eyes. Luna grew up with her father and mother coming and going, kicking ass and taking names all around the world and within Other Worlds. Her love for her family has pushed her to strive for excellence. Anything less than perfect is unacceptable. Luna developed a love of music and dance at a young age, begging her mother to take her to the Royal Ballet, and roping her father into performing dance routines she had choreographed. After being enrolled in to a ballet school, the art of dance soon became her outlet. To this day, if she hears a Fleetwood Mac song, it'll switch her mood entirely, and she'll break out all the dance moves. At the age of ten, Luna was sent to America to attend Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Here, her ambition grew along with a unique vocabulary of British and American slang and sarcasm. Luna approached every opportunity like an engine rebuild, dissecting and analysing until she understood the problem backwards and forwards. Her telepathic powers grew, and she stretched her enhanced speed, developing a passion for health and fitness. After six years of full-time education, Luna returned home to Cornwall, England, to begin training with her parents. The Braddock Family was well known in England, and as the nearly returned daughter of Captain Britian, Luna was heavily watched and scrutinised. Her powers and ambition flourished under a nurture-versus-nature mentality. Luna, now known as Glimpse, went on missions with her parents, learned to fight under her aunt’s tutelage, and started to take on a more public role. However, Glimpse’s ambition soon called her back to America. One call from Xavier, and Luna was back, running with a secret underground group of mutants that could use a fresh pair of hands.[/hider] [hider=The Underground] As with all Luna’s adventures, time with The Underground proved to be a valuable learning experience, one she both loved and detested. Luna grew up quickly on her own and with the rag-tag team of mutants. After a near-death experience, in which her best friend, James, brought her back from the brink of death, Luna learned some challenges require more than hot-headedness and brute force. That concept was reinforced when S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents hunted The Underground down, in a fit of anger and poor decision-making, Glimpse killed an agent. Luna made the decision to part ways with the group to take the heat off them and save The Underground, so they could continue saving and protecting mutant teens.[/hider] [hider=The Otherworld] The disaster in America led to Luna dropping Glimpse as an alias for a while, and she remained hidden in The Otherworld, bouncing between here and her family home in Britain. To this day, Luna is banned from setting foot in Washington, D.C. After a brief time wallowing in self-pity, British stiff-upper lip, and her parents encouraging her to have some responsibility again, Luna joined the British Corps under her father’s reign and became a more active member in protecting the Otherworld and advancing the Braddock name. She studied with her mother, learning more about her fae heritage and enhancing her connection. And she actually took the time to get to know the people around her, including her sister. Several years passed before Brian passed the torch to his daughter, leaving her with the Captain Britain mantle and in charge of the Captain Britain Corps. Luna rose to the challenge her father left behind, developing strong ties around the Otherworld and protecting all her people.
