By the time Gwen had finished the letter, her plate was mostly empty, the food now cold. A half-frown crossed her face before she had the letter saved to some personal drive with all the others she had written and never sent. She knew Concern had access to the drive and some corporate screener was probably reading them. Eventually she might get around to sending them, though Gwen wasn't sure her father wanted to talk to her at all. Regardless, it was now time to get started with the day. Before starting the small chores to tend to the apartment, Gwendlyn went to her bedroom to put her prosthetic arm on. Just another part to the morning rituals before going to work. The clean up of the little apartment kitchenette did not take long, the scraps of food plate and fork discarded to the dome's recycler to be turned into compost, and the pans cleaned with minimal water usage. Once the small chores were done, she grabbed her satchel and started to make her way to the Cauldron. She stopped briefly at one of the other kitchenettes when she saw both Arthur and Adesso. Isaac looked like he had barely slept again. Arthur looked to be in a fairly chipper mood as usual. A quick glance about told her that Xi had left her lab for once, and Yev was out and about as well. She gives a nod to both Eel and Adesso before taking off, not really making eye contact with either Xi or Yev. Once at the Cauldron, Gwen takes a jar of dried tobacco out and sets it in Arthur's work area with a note. The note read that it might be awhile before the next batch is ready. She could smell the faint odor of coffee that barely lingered, mixed into the constant smell of lubricants and metal that permeated the Cauldron. It reminded Gwendlyn her of home. The smell from working in the factory never really washed out of the coveralls and new ones only went a matter of a day or so before they soaked up the smells. Most of the workers were nose blind to it most of the time if not completely. She noted that the harvester was already in the shop, one of the other two must have just recalled it without waiting to much. Gwen would leave it alone until whoever recalled it got here before offering to help with it. She pulled up the list of requests again this time flagging a few requests to be added to her to-do list for today, a charger for one of orchard harvesters was shorting out, the controls for the milking machines needed a visual inspection, and the pumps for cooling tank 4 were needing preventative maintenance. Gwendlyn grabbed her tool kit and a few of the parts she would need for these first three jobs and placed them on one of the enclosed electric carts that were kept in the Cauldron, normally used for people to get around the dome quicker than on foot. Once her cart was ready, Gwen took the slender wooden pipe from her satchel, a pinch of tobacco from her own jar, and the pack of matches that she had. With the pipe prepared, she lights it taking a few puffs before stepping through one of the main entrances of the Cauldron into the open air of the dome. Her focus sharpened with each puff, her mind overall calmer and quieter. It was going to be a busy day and she wanted to check in with the other two before heading out, so here she sat just outside the Cauldron while she waited for them to make their way here.
