Do you like space? Since you clicked on the link, I'm imagining you do! And you may even appreciate when the two are mixed together. This RP is designed to be exactly such a blend.
The World of Graveyard Orbit
The world of Graveyard Orbit is set in a future where humanity has taken to the stars, encountering a number of established stellar empires. Graveyard Orbit will be set on a remote planet on the fringes of a collapsing Empire known as Caldera-3. Caldera is a sparsely inhabited, lawless world. The settlements on the world are rugged, fronteirsey and lacking in many of the things people in the more populated worlds might regard as essentials. You will start the RP as a lucky(?) prisoner, dumped on Caldera when the crew of your transport decide to desert the military. You have no money, no weapons and the only people who (might) trust you are the other former prisoners. You may be a human mercenary or an alien rebel or you might just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Either way you'll need to find some way to make a living and, hopefully, get off Caldera. There will be heists, shootouts, train robberies and all those good Western Tropes... only in space!
Handling Combat
Gun slinging and brawls are, obviously, a major part of any Western story! As such these needs to be handled with a bit of care to keep dramatic tension. Some of the time you will be fighting mooks and I don't care what you do really (within reason). If I advertise that you are dealing with competent opponents I'll ask you not to write the outcome to your actions. I'll determine that via a dice roll. if you do something titanically ill-advised your character may end up injured or dead. If we end up in a gunfight between two characters I'll adjudicate. I don't actually want to kill characters off, mind you and will try to avoid it (mostly)!
