[@Pirouette] ‘You can count on us~!’ Rose gave Erika a thumbs up and a wink, as they prepared to head in through the door. Then… Erika opened the door and entered. Past the door, she entered a room with metallic walls and a lot of computers. Rows of rows of screens showing various colorful images, both to the left and right of the room, and before each of them staff that were inspecting them closely. Many of the staff were wearing suits. Beside them stood a lot of Drowzees, and in the air floated numerous pink cloud-like Pokémon… Pokédex Entry #517 – Munna, the Dream Eater Pokémon. It always floats in the air. It is known to seek people who have nightmares and eat their dreams, yet it eats any dreams. It expels mist after eating a dream, pink if it was a pleasant dream, black if it was a nightmare. They glow when eating dreams, and this is due to Munna feeling happiness from the dreams it consumes. ‘The dreams from the Sleep O’Clock participants are coming in now,’ one of the staff said. A woman walked in to stand behind the row of staff on the left side. ‘Good. Getting anything worthwhile?’ she asked. At her side stood a yellow, humanoid Pokémon, staring blankly at the screens next to his trainer. Pokédex Entry #97 – Hypno, the Hypnosis Pokémon. It swings its pendulum, and anyone seeing it is put into deep sleep. It can also put someone to sleep by mere eye-contact. It feeds on dreams, and it often carries away those it put to sleep to feast on their dreams. While dangerous, it is often used in hospitals to quickly put patients to sleep. ‘There’s a girl here dreaming of leaving her company and also reporting her boss,’ one of them said. ‘Can’t have that, can we? Have a Drowzee discourage her. Have the boss give her plenty of promotions and happiness if she just tries hard enough,’ the apparent leader said. ‘Guy III of Maledy’s crew is back,’ the staff member said. ‘Excellent. Then pick his dreams apart until we can find out as much information as possible about Maledy, then send it to Rukh for processing. As for the rest…’ the woman turned around, and extended her arms with a smirk. ‘… Give them the most pleasant of dreams imaginable… positively featuring the brands we’ve been paid to advertise, of course!’ ‘Yes, Director Lotus!’ the staff member replied. ‘Haha… they almost make it too easy…’ the woman said, walking with her hands in her pockets to stand in the middle of the room, facing the thing in the back of the room, and her Hypno walking with her. Likely the first thing Erika had actually noticed, there was a giant Pokémon in the back of the room. It was tied to a lot of cables, and blowing pink mist into glass containers that were being analyzed by fancy parabolic gadgets, with cables from those going to the computers, becoming images for the staff to look upon. If Erika were to put on her goggles now, she’d find the goggles pointed in the direction of this Pokémon. It was not legendary… but it was also far bigger than this Pokémon was supposed to be. Pokédex Entry #518 – Musharna, the Drowsing Pokémon. The mist emanating from it is packed with the dreams of surrounding people and Pokémon. It is capable of giving these dreams physical form. It eats dreams, but sleeps and dreams itself almost all of the time. If it is ever woken up, it often acts like a terrible grump until it is allowed to sleep once more. The sleeping Pokémon appeared to be tied up in scientific-looking cables. As it was asleep, it wasn’t clear if it was aware of being restrained or not. ‘Come on, Musharna. Make their dreams visible to us, so we may exploit them further!’ she said, almost a bit manic in her smile. She looked a little sleep-deprived.

‘Also, someone close that door. For some reason we have guests in the basement, wouldn’t do for them to look in-’ she said, turning around to look towards the door that Erika just opened, her Hypno turning with her. What will Erika do? She can act first. Or, she can let Rose do something first, because Rose absolutely does want to.
‘CHIMECHO, WHISMUR, ROOUUND~!’ Rose called out excitedly, and both her sound-based Pokémon simultaneously sounded out, Whismur with her voice and Chimecho with her being a literal wind-chime. The sound blasted out not towards any particular target, just the center of the room in general, while Rose put fingers in her ears and urged Erika to do the same with a look. The two Rounds simply crossed in the center of the room… and become a exceedingly loud shout that made all the various staff-members and Drowzees wince and clutch their ears, albeit Lotus herself looked notably unbothered, if only somewhat unprepared. With most the would-be opposition distracted… NOW what will Erika do?

(albeit without snow) Alike Afterthought Abodes, Lovesick Lane is dominated by medium-size buildings and is primarily a residential area of Bigfjord City. However, unlike Afterthought Abodes, the citizens of Lovesick Lane managed to give their home a greater appeal, an identity of its own. It features its own streak of entertainment; there’s plenty of nice restaurants, there’s strange parlors and dance clubs, all employing various Pokémon. Compared to most other places in Bigfjord City, the citizens here seem almost happy… albeit that certainly isn’t due to the quality of their jobs, but more due to the community they return home to. The star attraction of the place is Maledy’s Menagerie, a circus as well as the star celebrities of the area. Of course, they’re rumored to do so much more than just entertain the people. The whole of Lovesick Lane has this dim magical sweet scent about it… Yet even here, there’s people standing around, sitting outside various buildings looking sad, having likely spent what little remained in their pockets in an attempt to feel some happiness.

Bigfjord City

1.
