I’m not so great at introductions, but let me try my best here. I’m new to the site, but not new to roleplaying. I’m a male in my 30s and am seeking an 18+ writing partner for a dark fantasy RP I have something of an idea for. What follows below is a list of my guidelines:

[*]My writing length varies based on the roleplay, but I am an author by trade so in general I write at a high casual to advanced level. I value quality over quantity so my writing partner won’t be burdened with heavy expectations from me, just give me enough to work with is all I ask. 
[*]I’m requesting 18+ only because my RP idea will have mature themes and violent/suggestive descriptive imagery and I’m just more comfortable writing with a fellow adult. 
[*]For frequency of posting, I work a full time job and also engage in a variety of outside activities so I prefer a relaxed posting speed. Once every two weeks probably works best for me, but all I ask is that you communicate if you can’t post for longer than two weeks. I will most certainly do the same. 
[*]I value effective communication so I’m seeking a communicative partner who doesn’t mind chatting OOC in addition to chats about the RP itself. I feel like the chemistry works better when you can become friends with who you’re writing with and, in spite of this kind of structured post, I am a friendly person haha. 
[*]Romance in an RP is perfectly fine by me, but I don’t write smut and will fade to black in situations where it gets spicy. That said, I’m well versed enough that I can write adjacent to the act itself but, as I stated, the act itself is a fade to black for sure. I can certainly get behind a well developed romance though.
[*]I prefer characters over plot. I’m not much of a world builder (I’m a discovery writer if that helps), but I believe excellent characters can energize and enhance what amounts to a basic plot. I’m certainly down for brainstorming and worldbuilding with my partner though. I want this to be a collaborative effort where our strengths come together to create what becomes an engaging narrative. 
[*]In terms of writing ability, all I’m looking for is grammar, spelling, and an honest effort. 
[*]I prefer real or realistic art for face claims. No anime/manga please. 
[*]I will not tolerate any AI use whatsoever. I don’t write using AI, I don’t use pictures that are AI generated, and I expect my partner to do the same. AI is theft and I do not support generative AI use at all. 
[*]I’m only open to MxF or FxF pairings please. The idea I will present will be an MxF pairing if romance is involved.
[*]As an author I’ve written both male and female leads so I’m not opposed to playing either. Just depends on the idea and inspiration I get from said idea.

Okay, with that done let’s get on to my rough (very rough) dark fantasy idea!

[b][i][u]Black Lily {Dark Fantasy} (Closed)[/u][/i][/b]
[hider=Black Lily]So I’ve had a craving for a dark fantasy RP inspired by the likes of Bloodborne, The Witcher, Game of Thrones, and, most recently, Crimson Desert. The story takes place on the continent of Colessence. Colessence is a broken land comprised of the bones of old kingdoms, dotted with villages and towns, and held together by the blood and sweat of the citizenry. Guilds and coin tend to control things most places though there are still some isolated monarchies sprinkled about. The world became a dark and heavy place after The Catastrophe struck. The Catastrophe opened up the human world to the horrors of the supernatural and the supernatural ravaged the land. Our narrative begins about a hundred years after this calamity and though Colessence is a very dangerous place, people are still somehow eking out a living. 

This RP basically follows our two characters who are thrown together by chance and circumstance, but whom are both part of the mercenary guild known as Black Lily. The story follows their adventures both on the job and off the job which is where the slice of life tag comes in. The first arc details how they come together and then their first job together as they’re tasked with looking into a string of civilian murders only to learn that the so called bandits behind them are actually a roving group of ex-knights with a chip on their shoulder and someone much more sinister pulling their strings. 

I’m willing to flesh out the idea more with my partner and get it to a place where we both feel comfortable beginning the IC and getting the ball rolling. The characters will be a male and a female lead and I will be playing the male lead in this case. 

Now Colessence is a dark and dangerous region and is teeming with any supernatural horror your mind can imagine. That being said, there will be violence, there will be gore, and there will be mature themes all throughout the RP. I’m envisioning this as a grimdark, low fantasy RP with no magic and a heavy focus on character-driven stories set within the world along with strong character development for the leads and the more prominent characters they meet. Things will be more lighthearted in the slice-of-life moments, but don’t expect quirky one-liners or laugh out loud comedy. Just a more grounded portrayal of life in a broken world.[/hider]

[b][u][i]A Whisper and A Fade {Urban Fantasy Thriller}[/i][/u][/b]
[hider=A Whisper and A Fade]This RP takes place in the modern day in a massive megacity known as Rosefield. In the world of Rosefield, humans are being hunted by the dangerous entities known as Angels. No one knows why the Angels have begun targeting them, only that it began around the same time as magic appeared in the human world centuries ago. To combat these hostile creatures, humans began relying on a new kind of magically infused warrior called the Fade. 

With the blessing of the Orisha, Fades use magically imbued weapons tattooed onto their bodies to combat and kill the Angels as guns and conventional human weapons have no effect on them. 

Our narrative begins when a Fade, hunting the angels not only for his job, but also to find his missing daughter, is forced to team up with an especially powerful Archangel in order to help her achieve her goal of finally ridding the world of the supreme being humans refer to as God. The story is set to be fast-paced, action-packed, and focus on strong character development and chemistry. 

Of course these are the bones of the idea and it can further developed and fleshed out with a potential partner.[/hider]

[b][u][i]Bound By A Heartbeat {Contemporary Action Romance}[/i][/u][/b]
[hider=Bound By A Heartbeat]This RP is [i]very[/i] loosely inspired by the classic tale, Romeo and Juliet. 

Three rival crime families. Two enforcers caught in the middle. One star-crossed love. 

The Emorie Family, The Villanoveau Family, and The Oakenfield Family have been the three biggest crime syndicates in Saint Haven for decades. For the last twenty years, they’ve been operating on a razor thin truce that keeps each in their own territory and out of the wars they’ve been known for in the past. Our two leads are both head enforcers for the Emorie and Villanoveau crime families and they’ve been madly in love ever since they laid eyes on one another. While they’ve been doing their best to be together without either family’s knowledge, things finally come to a head and they’re found out. 

Rather than rip them apart however, the families issue a challenge. To prove their love for each other and their undying loyalty to each family they serve, The Emories and the Villanoveaus order the forbidden couple to take down the Oakenfield family, the single largest in all of Saint Haven. Take them down or be taken down themselves for betraying each family’s trust. 

With no other choice, the couple decides to take on the challenge, but will just the two of them be able to stand up to the largest criminal syndicate in the city? And will their love stand the test of adversity itself? Bound By A Heartbeat aims to answer the age old question, how far would one go for the love of their lives?

I’m also open to other ideas besides the ones I’ve outlined here. I’m not currently interested in any fandoms at the moment, but if that changes I’ll ensure to denote that here. I’ll also add any other ideas I come up with as they come to me. Thanks for reading!
