A planet doomed by the arrogance of men.

Two scientists, desperate to save their only son, placed him inside a rocket.

The Last Son of Krypton took to the stars- amless, wandering, guided only by the winds of fate.

Fate sent that rocket crashing into a field in the middle of nowhere. Two bewildered farmers found a crying babe within. They embraced this alien child from the stars as their own. Raised him to be compassionate, honest, and just. 

As he grew into adolescence, Clark Kent discovered the power of the sun flowing in his veins. He wasn't sure what to do with it yet. Even at twelve years old, he crushed steel if he squeezed too hard. Trying to jump up to the kitchen counter sent him through the ceiling and into his bedroom. Once, he ran so fast down the highway he couldn't stop- exploded straight through the guard rail, two trees and Thomas Lang's tractor. Everything he could do frightened him to his core.

Finding the rocket and the message from his birth parents changed everything.

Ma and Pa encouraged Clark to embrace who he was, to dispense with his fear and harnass what he was capable of to the benefit of others. Clark started by helping his neighbors. Smallville was the safest town in the world until Clark graduated high school and left for college in the big city. Metropolis was a wholly different animal to Smallville. Here, Clark had to contend with more than highwaymen and natural disasters. Metropolis had super intelligent albino gorillas and mechanized war machines shaped like children's toys. It had a couple million residents crying out for hope as billionaires bought up their neighborhoods, polluted their water and smuggled extraterrestrial rayguns into their streets. Metropolis was where Clark Kent, the superpowered, well-meaning if terribly clumsy teenager, became [color=RoyalBlue][b]SUPERMAN[/b][/color].

This is Clark's second year wearing the cape. He's tangled with a number of rogues, such as the previously mentioned [b]Ultra-Humanite[/b] and [b]Toyman.[/b] It hasn't been exactly easy for him, but the Man of Steel will soon find there are some problems he can't solve with his fists and a hopeful smile. 

The mayor of Metropolis just unveiled a new task force for dealing with the 'metahuman problem' plaguing their fair city: [b]the Legion of Justice,[/b] a semi-independent law enforcement initiative sponsored and equipped by none other than [b]LexCorp.[/b] Armed with highly advanced weapons and lab-grown superpowers, Lex Luthor's very own Legion will all but replace Metropolis's need for Superman.

[COLOR=DARKGRAY][INDENT]I love Superman. I've loved him since I was yay high and watched him kick ass in his animated series. To me, he's the quintessential superhero. He inspires people to stand up for themselves and fight for a better tomorrow. He is hope for a brighter future personified. His drive for truth, justice and dignity for all are core parts of his character I want to emphasize that in my writing. Moreover, the way Superman affects the people around him is just as pivotal. I want to portray the people of Metropolis as a living, breathing society, and explore how the existence of someone like Superman changes their everyday lives.

The [b]Legion of Justice[/b] will introduce Superman's greatest archenemy, Lex Luthor, in a slightly different light. Lex is the proud sponsor of Metropolis's newest superhero team. Acting with the confidence of the mayor and full legal authority, The Legion is meant as a test launch for Luthor's real project: [b]PlanetWatch[/b] [i](name pending for more focus group testing)[/i], a global hero initiative to replace the 'anarchy' of vigilantism with profit-driven, metric-orientated crime fighting.
