Selene, for whatever reason, had absolute confidence that the nun wouldn't be able to kill this child.

Selene thinks it leads to psychic abilities. Yes, I can. Abilities are incredibly rare, but frankly, in her head, with all the information, it seems more likely than some demon or bloodline nonsense.
