He maintained his pleasant smile; he had nothing to hide after all until it cracked. He was just about to respond to his sister when the commotion broke out by the throne between a noble and the King of Caesonia who in turn responded in kind. It was nothing short of a mess, an embarrassment for King Edin and all parties involved though it had nothing to do with him. His gaze returned to Amira and... Why were there tears in her eyes? She looked like a small, fragile thing that tremored as if she were exposed to the cold for the first time. It would have been cruel to string the young woman along by claiming he was the one to have sent her the bouquet when he had no feelings for her or even knew her name. The truth would have revealed itself eventually and it would have caused her greater hurt and embarrassment and cost him his reputation. It was the responsible thing. It was the right thing. So why, even when he was in the right did she look at him as if he just shattered her dreams? His attention was pulled away by a man that matched him physique and size. No, he was just slightly bigger than him. It was not everyday he could find someone that looked like they could match him in raw strength. And his sister knew of him? And judging by his reaction he knew of Magnus and knew of the girl who held that bouquet. Amira was it? It should not have been a surprise that she was a Shehzadi though he had not expected it. Then again, this night was not going exactly as he expected it to either. Magnus nodded politely in response to the lord. "As do you Lord Ravenwood. It appears that my sister had made more acquaintances than I-" He stopped himself. Amira had sprinted off with no word of warning towards a balcony. He could have ignored her. Why should he get bent out of shape? She was just some random girl whose name had been unknown to him until Lord Ravenwood. She was the one who made the assumption. He didn't do anything wrong. Gods dammit. Magnus slightly bowed from the hip towards Lord Ravenwood and his sister. Gods know that Nora was going to let him have it later regardless if he was the one who sent those blasted flowers or not. "Forgive me, but it appears that I have some matters to attend to. Sister, Lord Ravenwood." He made his way through the crowd at a casual pace. If he had chased after her like some panicked lover it would have only hurt her reputation and his. Oh and the rumors! No, he just needed to play this calmly. He stepped onto the balcony and stopped to stare at her from behind. Under the light of the moon she was beautiful. No, that wasn't true. She was beautiful in any context. Even he was caught off guard with the way her dark hair caught the moon's silver slivers of light beneath the veil and how her dress shimmered like starlight. It defied logic and explanation of how no other man, woman, or otherwise had been taken by her beauty. Get a grip. After a moment he called out from behind, "It's a lot in there, isn't it?" Magnus slowly approached the railing of the balcony just a few feet from her. His large form leaned forward more than normally so they could be as close to eye level as possible. There was no point in asking if she was okay; he had no intention of drawing attention to her feeling of embarrassment. "I don't think most balls are supposed to be this... heated, for lack of a better word." He chuckled though it really did sound like things were hectic in there. "I do believe I would be remiss though if I fail to comment how lovely you look tonight, Shehzadi Amira."
