He blinked. [color=pink]“I beg your pardon—”[/color] Then he looked down at Clarissa. [color=pink]“…Right.”[/color] With a sigh, Valerian stepped forward to help. He moved to Clarissa’s other side and offered an arm to support her weight. [color]“Easy now,”[/color] he said. [color=pink]“Let’s not make a habit of introducing yourself to the ground.”[/color]

At Frankie’s voice, Valerian looked up. His attention fixed on the white creature perched atop the black wall. [color=pink]“What is that…?”[/color]

His Rotom Phone supplied the answer moments later.

Valerian watched as it bounded effortlessly from ruin to ruin. Most people would have focused on the word disaster. Valerian was more interested in the fact that it was clearly trying to lead them somewhere. His gaze flicked to the strange black walls, then back to the Absol. [color=pink]“Well,” he said quietly, “that seems significant.”[/color]

Nearby, Umbriel tilted its head. The Mimikyu watched the departing Absol for a few seconds before shuffling after it without hesitation, as though following mysterious disaster omens into ancient ruins was a perfectly reasonable afternoon activity.

Valerian sighed. “Of course.” Adjusting his grip to steady Clarissa, he nodded toward the path the Absol had taken. [color=pink]“Once she’s able to stand, I think we should follow it.”[/color]
