I was just thinking this! I was actually going to apply for an Italian female version of Alistair when I saw the ratio, but I couldn't find a good image to use, and my original idea was for him based partially on a heroic version of the Flashman novels.
And in the end, it's better to do the gender right for the character instead of forcing it to work a certain way for some ratio. If we end up being allowed a second hero, I do have a female heroine concept. The problem is I'm not sure of there's actually a golden age archtype for a Victorian/classical disney princess-esque likely British lady who can maipulate plants, can heal others, has telepathy, and maybe also has light powers. A woman who has never wanted to be more than tradionally feminine, but she then develops powers and the situation forces her to fight regardless. There's a plethora of tomboy heroines and seductress villainesses. But while it feels like a concept that could have easily been in the golden age, I don't know of any that are actually like that.
