Where I come from, we find time in our day to slay the gray." — Isra Mahmud Nanite on nanite combat was an interesting concept. Normally nanites are giant slayers, working most effectively against things that are many times their size. Against most machinery, Penny’s ‘gray wash’ nanites would inhibit and degrade the metallic adversary that they were designed for. As nanite constructs, there was more than enough material to kickstart their self replication. This was not the case when your opponent was also a nanite. Nanites were, after all, carefully constructed from highly specific components selected by a mad scientist, and these two nanites had entirely different jobs. Osiris’s nanites were all about arranging an impenetrable defence, while Penny’s nanites were designed to combat regeneration and erode machines. Had the strangely specific gray nanites gotten onto Osiris herself the story would be different. But they resisted Penny’s nanites attempts to assimilate them, much like Penelope Pussycat resisting the advances of Pepé Le Pew. At least, that might have been what was going on. This was magical nanite combat after all, not that Osiris understood any of it anyway. What she knew was that she could create a modest sized shield that would protect her from virtually any attack. "Cool." she noted. Not at her nanites being immune to the gray wash, but the light ring coming from Penny’s back. It was a good thing she wasn’t an xbox. The Scorpion of Destruction however was not so fortunate. It’s metallic body, while also designed by a mad scientist, did not have a way to negate the effects of Penny’s nanites. While its compounds were incredibly pure and bereft of anything they could eat (minus any ambient mana they could feed on), it would stop the scorpion from regenerating. Though that hardly mattered when the thing hadn’t even been wounded yet. But maybe that would change soon. While Penny’s hammer swing was intercepted, it was not without its tricks. A sudden burst delivered a surge of acceleration. However, the hammer in question was held by two immensely strong engines of destruction. Neither Penny nor scorpion yielded. But the hammer was releasing tons of energy and needed a place to go. The Scorpion of Destruction refused to let its arms buckle even a little bit, and so it became part of the handle. Its pincers and torso locked in place, but its front legs were lifted off the ground. Then its middle legs were lifted row after row, until it was standing upright and had no recourse but to fall backwards. Osiris was along for the ride as well. She was still holding onto Penny, and hadn’t attacked her yet because of all the engine wash generated by the hammer. Her swarm had formed a shield in front of her, and while the barrier held strong, the grey wash nanites were burned away by the tremendous power of the attack. Though this had an interesting effect on Penny, as her leg was being pulled behind the hammer, which almost put her in a superman pose. The scorpion fell, but it wasn’t totally helpless. It did have its tail after all. The curved appendage allowed the scorpion to roll as it fell backwards instead of fall flat on its back. It was also able to alter the trajectory of its fall, but ultimately ended up on its back while Penny’s hammer detonated the ground in front of it. Chunks of asphalt and dirt blasted out in all directions, not just from the impact of the hammer, but the scorpion as well. As soon as they had landed, the scorpion righted itself without releasing the hammer. It was fortunate that the scorpion of destruction couldn’t feel vertigo, because an attack like that would have left most opponents reeling, even having avoided the attack itself. But while Penny and the scorpion had come to a stop, Osiris hadn’t. The engine wash wasn’t on the shield anymore, and the Scorpion of Destruction was starting to use its own magic manipulation. If the Egyptian magical girl hadn’t braced for impact ahead of time, she wouldn’t have had time to do it now. Behind her shield, Osiris deployed her Mechanical Appendage Neo-Titanic Implementation System to create a pair of massive mantables. The white hot shield careened into Penny, and it would make holes to allow her newly created appendages to meet her target when it did. Yet a few swings of her blade was all it took to bring them down. Then again, that was only her expectation given that so many of their opponents were incredibly durable. Most of them were undead, or something more. She slid her sword back into her sheath and landed beside a ruined car. The DJ rapped her knuckle on the door while looking under it. "Ready to come out now?" Sure enough, a hand reached out from under the car and dragged itself out. It was done sleeping. — Oros the Savage Savage was easily among the most durable of the Oros, second maybe to Wisdom. It was also rather cunning. Despite no longer having the ability to speak, it understood the plan they had all made together. Inventive’s nanites had crawled into its exposed head to act as a weak point, and Savage had the common sense to play dead as soon as they emitted that crack sound. It wasn’t a gambit without risk, of course. Savage’s phylatory was their weapon, and they had swung it at the triplets knowing that they wouldn’t have tried to shoot it off of her person. It was still a close one though. Without Inventive or Swift’s help, it likely would have been shot up and dissolved to the point where its connection to its phylatory would have been severed, bringing it to its eventual end. The creature stood up, and its head had mended itself. The various anti-magic rounds had greatly slowed its regenerative abilities, to the point where it wouldn’t be in full fighting shape for a while. Savage let out a weary groan and stumbled forward. "None of that now, we have more foes to dispatch." Swift placed her hand on her blade, ignoring the displeased look she was getting from the creature. "Assist me with my target." Right. Madness was supposed to take care of that lot once she helped distract the trio, but it seemed like something hadn’t gone according to plan. Or rather, this was always part of Madness’s own plan that she had kept secret from everyone. The butterfly effect that caused was going to make the initial strategy obsolete rather quickly. But it didn’t matter. The goal was to deal with all the green skins and provide Overlord with some backup. While Stampede Stacy’s cattle were running down a photon cannon, Swift and Savage moved in to attack. The nanites that had been instrumental to its survival flew off, but that was okay. Someone else likely needed them more than it did right now. Swift could fly overhead, but Savage had been shot up, bloodied, and hit with enough anti-magic rounds to all but dispel any moth dust that remained on it. The photon cannon’s shot went high and would have cut the sky in half had Nykannis’s reality stabilizing barrier not been in place. Hopefully that wouldn’t hit anyone. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Savage bellowed and charged the three and a half undead. Meanwhile Swift poised herself for another unseen barrage of sword strikes. Once Savage was in range, she let her sword fly true. While her skin remained dry and chemical free, the same could not be said about the metallic layer of nanites that had covered her body. Were Lada a miniature, mini painters would scream and holler at how Saw Blade Stacy was filling in all the details. The paint’s thick consistency wasn’t conductive for showing finer details, and even Inventive’s clothes seemed to disappear under the deluge of pink pigment. "What?!" Was the last thing that managed to bubble out of the paint before it set up completely. Lada was frozen in place, trapped inside a pink statue of a slime girl lounging on the grass. Though as peaceful as the statue looked, on the outside, the same couldn’t be said for inside the statue. It was claustrophobic, dark, and void of air to breathe. Despite the odds, Saw Blade Stacy had come out on top. "Wait, we can fix this!" She reached into her backpack even as Stacy charged up her next attack. "I apologize for soaking you like that, but this is something I can fix!" The little woman rummaged around until she pulled out a blue box that was half the size of her chest. Of course her opponent was either choosing to ignore her or couldn’t hear over the sound of their attack powering up. "Gah!" With fear gripping her heart, she used the half opened box of detergent to block the incoming attack. Normally, detergent wasn’t so combustible. It had replaced gasoline as a clothes cleaner for that very reason. But if you heat anything up enough it will burst. Heat was just energy, and Stacy’s super cool zappy zap was a metric ton of energy primed to release. A fiery explosion rocked the arena, and hurled the combatants away from each other. Even Shrewd’s backpack went flying through the air, with its wearer still tangled in its straps. It looked like the massive backpack was going to come down on top of Saw Blade Stacy. "Heart be still!" — Suki Oyama, Oros the Joyful Needless to say, blasting the love of your life so hard with your nose bleed was not really an ideal way to start a first date. Though for Suki, her emotions were mixed. Part of her was happy that she had slathered the super cutie with her blood. She would undoubtedly be swooning for her before long. On the other, her nose bleed had shot her date one way and herself another. It was fine for the nurse to be slathered in her blood, but letting her get hurt because she hit the ground too hard was not cool. But where there was a crisis there was opportunity, and how badass would it be for Joy to swoop in and catch the super cutie before she got hurt? She could see it now, the silhouette of her own body holding the nurse against the backdrop of the battlefield. Their lips locked, bloody bodies embracing, just picturing it was getting her remaining blood to flush out of her nose. Though pure desire, Joy managed to angle her head and get herself flying in the right direction. Unfortunately, single minded simpletons like herself were not known for paying attention in extremely hostile situations. And so when Grimoiric Hearts Stacy launched her double lightning strikes. Her body seized up, Joy’s body seemed to strobe and her skeleton was visible like an xray, Then the charred mass that used to be her body slammed into the ground and broke apart like charcoal. She didn’t have to worry about blood loss anymore. Though this also meant that Wisdom’s sharkenbear clone was completely unimpeded, and was able to grab a hold of the girl’s arm and leg and attempt to pull her apart. Would her stitches hold? "I’m not usually this mean, but if it means winning…." — Mika, Oros the Wise The witch had escaped, but the pennybot that she had traded places with did not fare so well. The ball of flesh in teeth collapsed as it put the finishing chomp on its victim. It belched out some metal fragments before joining Wisdom’s body again. OG Stacy it seemed would need more time to be chewed. Though Wisdom wasn’t really focused on that. Even Staceella falling asleep while Wisdom’s discordant voice droned on. The woman with a loudspeaker head continued to drone on. "Of course it’s true, was it not obvious? All the eyerolls, the disappointed tone, all the shit you break that she has to fix in your absence. You couldn’t have been totally clueless." Wisdom scoffed. "Perhaps you really are that foolish. Ramona has been working overtime to send you off and you keep turning up like a bad penny. I imagine she must have been especially disheartened to see you back after you turned into a slime monster. That can’t be easy to clean off of the sofa, though I imagine your capacity to be annoying is even greater now. Are you sure you weren’t intentionally using her? She can’t see it any other way." "You know what else tastes good?" — Thalia Alvoy, Oros of Shock and Awe Thalia’s brow twitched when Stacy slighted her. "Right." She fished an eyeball out of the tube by the optic nerve. It was massive when compared to a human eye, about twice the size of a gumball. "We can go for round two, sure. Thanks for letting me finish. I’ve been saving this one for a special occasion." She stuck out her tongue and lowered the eyeball onto it. Then her tongue, slowly, curled around the morsel and pulled it into her mouth. Her lips closed and her jaw started to work. What had barely fit in her mouth had deflated in her mouth, but she continued to chew. "Mmmm!" She inhaled sharply, her grip on the bottle and sword tightened, her chest expanded. Then she spit. A spray of thick blood coated whatever was unfortunate enough to be in front of Thalia, which happened to be Stacy. Though as soon as she went to capitalize on her opening, the cockpit began rolling, and the two nigh-indestructable pilots were bouncing around the interior of the ship. "Fuck you and this cursed gravity!" "Pay no mind to the clone of the cone of the cone’s yandere GF." — Davis Gallo, Oros the Conqueror "We are finally free of that accused tower." Davis smiled at his false lover. "We are finally free of that cursed tower, my love!" The robot cradled Davis with one of her many arms. "But I see we are merely inside yet another prison. What should we do?" "Kill anything with green skin." Davis’s eyes locked onto Saw Blade Stacy. "Or that one." "She looks like that girl you were dating before you met me. I’ll be sure to end her immediately." Such a target was not worthy of facing oblivion at the hands of Infinite Mugen’s persona weapons. The robotic abomination scrambled up to Scylla while still cradling Davis. She hit the ship with her shoulder, and then used her many hands to start rolling it. The oval-ish shape didn’t roll the best, but with every spin it slowly deformed into a more desirable shape. As it rounded out, it became easier to push, and Alice moved faster.
