Lara had refocused on her attacker, figuring she could deal with the second person in a moment. While he was dazzled, she'd started to reach out, something telling her that part of her newfound power involved making contact with the exposed skin. She grabbed his wrist, unsure what to expect, but the effect was quick. It was as if energy was slowly being drained from the young man. Her lantern glowed brighter as she did so, until she let go after a few seconds, the attacker visibly somewhat weaker. Then, she started to feel reinvigorated, her wound healing itself before her eyes and the light in the lantern dimmed. As she stared, not quite able to believe what had just happened, the other person, a young woman ran out from under a desk, hitting the man on the head with a shield. Not unconscious, but certainly rendered unable to move for the time being. Lara withdrew her hand, but was ready to take a swing with her lantern, in case the intended target had actually meant to be herself. "Persephone. Right? We need to go. Now." While it was the logical thing to do, and Lara had certainly intended to leave as soon as the opportunity had presented itself, she did not take kindly to being told what to do. She prickled. The thought that it was a ruse to get her to trust the other woman crossed Lara's mind. She couldn't be quite sure of anything right now. "I had that." Lara grumbled, looking at the shield the other woman had used. It was impressive, honestly. More so than the lantern she had, she thought, bitterly. She walked, leaving the office, but kept her guard up. She had to be ready to fight in case she was attacked again. "So who are you? Why should I trust you?" Lara asked, challenging, making it clear that she was not going to easily accept any explanation and was more being difficult than anything else. In the back of Lara's mind, however, now that the excitement of the fight was over, it was clearer that she was another of the Godly successors. Someone that could, in fact, be trusted, if Lara could swallow her pride.
