[indent][color=92278f][i]That... didn't work...[/i][/color] Errors had been made by the young ronin. First and foremost had been to permit her thirst for action sway over her behavior; Kaitori had acted brashly, entering unto the fray heedless and unprepared, brandishing her blade against the most immediate threat without thought. Second was in her assumption that the upward-stampede of crypt lurkers would instinctually bottleneck their masses through to the center of the defensive formation; the swordwielder's effort to work the flanks, though pressumably a success in drawing attention, had worked [b]too[/b]well, with multiple creatures directing themselves towards her. [color=92278f][i]This could get messy.[/i][/color] At least three among the horde moved towards her position. One, having taken the impact of her opening offensive, struck out first, followed by a pair in its wake. 

Coming out of her Bladewave, Kaitori's assumed a [url=https://en.ichimileinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/seigan-no-kamae-1024x1024.png]Seigan-no-Kamae[/url] stance. She held her position firmly, allowing the first of the beasts to close the distance while shifting into a Waki-Gamae stance. Once her quarry was just outside the reach of her blade she commenced the motion of her counterattack: A step in, meeting the beast's charge, accompanied by a slash of her blade towards its neck. In sequence she would push off from her right leg, and begin moving back to her left, banking on her natural agility to keep some distance between herself and the ensuing pair of creatures. If they weren't inclined to move into a choke point on their own, then perhaps she could pull them back towards the center, where they might meet the volleys from her present allies, and she might lend herself to the aid of others.[/indent]
