having Mana or magic is a fairly normal thing in this world, most people have affinity for 1-2 types of magic. And having one partially pointy eared elven descendant is enough. I have already had to start thinking about elven diplomatic practices, and inheritance laws. I didn't think anyone would go the partial elf route, but here we are so yeah. Kinda expected someone to go demi-human/beastman but no-one did.
