Eric was more than a little surprised to see that the ET was able to transform its hand into a gun, but he didn't have time to think about it. At least he managed to make it miss Ivor and even take out the other alien holding on to him. Not that he was in a position to celebrate. It seemed the ET that tackled him learned from what happened and instead of going for a ranged weapon morphed its hand into a short blade.

It was only thanks to Ivor that Eric didn't have to learn if his new costume was knifeproof, though the two ETs recovered from the impact fast enough that he was now facing two opponents instead of one. As Eric used the bayonet of his rifle to block another stabbing attempt, he took a literal hammerfist to the chest. The impact was greatly reduced but still more than enough to leave him winded.
