Anyways... one of the more fun interactions in the sci-fi nation RPs I had was one person willingly portraying something like Tau Spacemarines/techpriests with a universal translator that replaced all proper-nouns with fish-sticks and fish-stick accessories. Halibut.

I took more of the Billy-Bob Space-Trucker route of using stuff like the USS Discovery from 2001 as a heavy cruiser in a universe where starfighters were a viable thing. A little behind everybody's tech-curve but we were [i]really good[/i] at throwing rocks. Cue the other factions [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oVN8nbeLGI]start thinking we're some sort of Jedi[/url].

Then there was an RP about space-wizards with mech piloting monster-girl bodygaurds. Basically America-Wizard in space for how unhinged the premise was as it evolved into a legally distinct offshoot of the Clone Wars.
