"I might count this one as a friend, yes." The previous ally had not quite been spoken of fondly, unlike this one. "Her name is Vortex, or that's what she calls herself." It was a bit of an odd name, but Yumeiko didn't particularly care about how odd it was. What was normalcy, anyway? "The other one," she groaned, taking a moment to overcome the embarrassment, "wanted pictures of our feet in trade." Yumeiko watched Miyuki pour over the weapons for a moment, before she turned her attention to the spears she favored, herself. They had a name... "Oh, that's right. Sasumata." She plucked one from the rack as Miyuki asked about her training, and she couldn't help a grin with something bittersweet to it. "I sure do." She held the tool with discipline, waiting to do any flourishes until they were in the training room. "The sasumata is pretty simple, though it isn't intended to fight multiple opponents." She rested the spear against her shoulder and brought out a weapon rack on wheels with her free hand. "Here, stick your picks on here and we'll step into the training room." Expansion: The training room was a practical, open space with two designated sparring arenas set to the side on one half, letting the other half be dedicated to general use. Some trained against hardlight structures, and there was a pair sparring. They were fighting with their fists, a man and a woman. Actually, the woman seemed to be giving instruction. She would best him in an exchange and, occasionally, stop their spar to explain something, then declare to continue. She wore an aevon gem. Something about it, besides its small size, was distinct from the broader crystal that formed much of the ship's hull, visible in most everywhere in cracks or creases or the borders between spaces or parts, like gold poured into the cracks of porcelain. Yumeiko had mentioned her ally, or perhaps trade partner, had a supply of crisp, old military hardware. The hallways and firing range and equipment room had all been fairly unfractured. Is that where she'd gotten the hangar from, too? There were seams at the corners, where walls met each other and the floor and the ceiling, where the gentle blue peeked through.
