Two days ago marked the beginning of a brand-new school year. New faces found their classrooms, old friends reunited in the halls, and every one of you officially became part of another chapter in Harbor Crest's story. Whether you're walking these halls for the very first time or counting down your final year, we are [i]thrilled[/i] to have you here.

Today, however, isn't just about classes. Today is about [i]community[/i]. One of Harbor Crest's longest-standing traditions is our annual [b]Welcome Back Carnival[/b]——a day set aside for students to step outside the classroom, meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and start building memories that will last long after graduation.

Throughout the day, each grade level will have its own scheduled time to enjoy the carnival, giving every class the chance to make the event their own. Once your teachers dismiss you during your assigned block, head out to the athletic field where you'll find plenty waiting for you.

Expect rows of local food trucks serving everything from burgers and barbecue to tacos, pizza, shaved ice, funnel cakes, and fresh lemonade. Wander through classic midway games to test your luck, challenge your friends at oversized yard games, or see who can sink someone in the ever-popular [b]dunk tank[/b]. If you're looking for a little more excitement, a handful of carnival rides—including a Ferris wheel, spinning teacups, a swing ride, as well as a Gravitron.. you know, the gravity carnival ride shaped like a UFO? Those will all be running throughout the day. There will even be music playing, student clubs hosting booths, and plenty of places to simply sit, relax, and enjoy the sun.
