Card is taught well in the art of spiritual and medical healing. In both forms of study, he specializes heavily in heart treatment. He is very trained, and almost flawless in his operations. The witch doctor's treatments are very simple. He painlessly opens the patient up, plucks out their heart, quickly treats said organ with what he calls "medicine", and stuffs it back into them. The procedure can take very little time, but it's long lasting effects can be extraordinary.

Card's original race is unknown, not even the doctor truly knows what he is. At a "young" age, a skull was placed over his head. He naturally grew into it, and now he can't take it out. He theorizes himself to be part bird, and as such is seen with a feather in his "mouth".
