I'd like to go into more detail about how [i]it's[/i] sometimes possible [i]to use[/i] different tenses within the same time frame even when you [i]wouldn't have expected[/i] to but I basically just wanted to draw attention to the idea of time frames and tenses and the importance for thinking about it and hopefully native English speakers at least will let their instinct fix it.
