The free candy bag to the face caught Claude by surprise, but due to the training he'd been put through, he was able to intercept the bag of candy. Though why the bag was there in the first place was rather puzzling, to be honest. A surprise, but not necessarily unpleasant. Claude opened it up and stuffed a hard candy into his mouth. He grit his teeth and turned his hands into fists. Not good to dwell on that line of thought. Not good at all. Though he did crack a slight smile when their mentor started berating the bluenette.
