There's also some [url=http://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/reports/racial-disparity-sentencing]documented racial disadvantages during sentencing[/url], ceteris parabus. That's not necessarily an indicator of racism from the bench -- there's a lot of circumstances and every individual case is unique. Still, the stats certainly aren't doing anybody a favor.
