"I knew there was a reason I liked you so much." Mila laughed. “Fastest way to a girl’s heart, right?” she said playfully. She caught Charlie’s faltering smile, just as her roommate lowered her gaze. There was that adorable habit of hers, biting her lower lip. Mila unconsciously ran her tongue over her own lip in response. The vampire was a little surprised to feel its affect, considering she wasn’t very hungry at the moment. Thanks to last night, she was feeling quite satisfied. “Thirsty?” “Mm, not anymore,” she replied absently, still pleasantly musing about the events of last night. She blinked and added hastily, “I mean, thanks but…I’ve already eaten actually. Thank you though.” Inwardly, she rolled her eyes at herself for playing it so smooth. To distract Charlie, and because she looked so charming at the moment in her loose fitting tank and messy bun, Mila reached out to lift the girl’s chin with her thumb and forefinger, gently forcing her to look up and meet her gaze. “Hey, are you feeling alright? You look a little out of it… I hope I didn’t keep you up too late last night.” She was scanning the girl’s features, trying to gauge whether or not her nightly escapades had taken too much of a toll on Charlie. Her eyes dropped down to her neck to look for any telltale markings. When she was satisfied that the wounds had healed, she pulled her hand away again. “Here. You look hungry. I was hoping I could tempt you with this, as a small way of saying thanks for last night. You were delightful. You really cheered me up.” She slid the bacon onto the plate with scrambled eggs and toast and passed it over the counter toward Charlie. “Don’t worry, I didn’t raid your fridge for this. I ran down to the convenience store earlier this morning and picked up a few things. I suppose I should have asked if you were a vegetarian though…” she said, looking hesitantly at her. Mila moved toward the kitchen sink to begin cleaning up. “Anyway, I’m going to go pick up my things today, maybe run a few errands. My old place was furnished, so I don’t really own anything in the way of furniture. Just some clothes and few other trinkets. Some books.” She finished scrubbing the skillet and placed it in the dishwasher before turning her full attention back on Charlie. “I should be back around dinner time though. You’ll be here, I hope? I was thinking it would be fun to have a night in, maybe watch a movie or something. You know, to celebrate becoming roommates.” She grinned and leaned back casually against the counter. “What do you think?”
