Tip 1: Don't draw on lined paper. Get some cheap white printer paper from the dollar store- you can get plenty for a good price. If you've got the cash, buy a sketchbook. 

Tip 2: I see what you're going for with the right hand, the foreshortening. I'm not good at it myself, so I can only offer you other people's tutorials.
