You're welcome. I was quite reluctant there, but as long as we don't have a ridiculous influx of Dark Elves, you should be OK. Speaking of which, time to introduce mine. Name: Melvin Age: 23 Appearance: Old image of him here Birthplace: Boreas Personality: Melvin is as hot-blooded as they come. He doesn’t think things through rationally, preferring to act on raw instinct and emotion rather than what’s logical and ‘right’. This also makes him charismatic and courageous, taking the hits for others and accepting blame for anything he feels he’s truly responsible for. He has an incredibly strong will to survive, and nothing will get in his way. Melvin possesses extreme hatred for Boreas and the Sect of Maxwell due to the experiments they did to him, and has been trying to rally others into staging an uprising against them. He wants to expose the horrible truth of the Sect to the world, hoping to overturn the Thauma system and throw them out of power. Despite his overbearing masculinity, Melvin hates alcohol due to personal reasons. Race: Dark Elf Canon or OC: OC Weapon: twin axes Thauma #1: Efreet Thauma #2: Lorelei Base Artes: Tiger Blade, Tempest, Beast, Hell Pyre, Burning Wheel Bio: Melvin started life as a Half-Elf, and right from the start he’s had it rough. He was sold to the Sect’s thaumaturges in Boreas by his alcoholic Human father to get enough money for a day’s worth of liquor. Melvin was one of the first subjects in the Dragon Blood Project, and also one of the most successful. His appearance had radically changed, and he felt like an alien in his own body. The thaumaturges then tried to use different Thaumae to try and control his mind, but Melvin’s willpower was too strong for them. Then an Elven traitor to the Boreas High Council – Duke Larcen Serizawa – marched into the place and single-handedly destroyed the facility in one night. He rescued many survivors of the Sect’s research, including Melvin, and burned documents relating to forbidden subjects. This greatly damaged the Sect’s stronghold in Boreas for a short while, allowing the captives to escape south to Zenterr or Sord where Boreas’ political power couldn’t reach. Larcen’s strength and actions inspired Melvin to pursue the same path, although he never did ask why the Duke was destroying the Sect’s research. At first he assumed that Larcen was rebelling against the council, but then he disappeared and the Sect regained its footing in Boreas. Larcen hasn’t been seen since, so it’s left many unanswered questions in Melvin’s mind – is Larcen trying to save people, or is there something else? Despite this, Melvin continues to build a resistance force of his own in Sord and southern Zenterr in the hopes of finding the truth, thereby crushing Boreas and the Sect for good.
