I acknowledge that colonialism had a lot of positive effects. But I also acknowledge it had a lot of negative effects (that in some cases outweigh the good). Exploitation of the land and people, coupled with the atrocities committed make colonialism in Africa, especially, a very regrettable ordeal in spite of whatever good it ultimately brought. It did a lot of good for Africa, but it also did a lot of bad, that unfortunately still plagues the continent to this day. Africa is a mess and colonialism is partly to blame. We can say that, in the end, it paved the way for a lot of good. But let's not forget all the fucked up shit that happened. Let's not pretend it was all rainbows and unicorns.
