Orion, everything is still here and kicking, I intend this thread to be a lot like Last Embers as far as the collaborative world creation goes so if you have any Sci-fi ideas you want to throw in feel free.. 

Wernher and Canoli thanks for stopping by and I hope I can make it interesting enough for you to stick around. Also Grav (is that fine for shorthand shutupgravity?) glad to see you too. If any of you want to mull over character ideas just shoot them to me here or privately, also feel free to ask any questions as we move along.

Zran, thanks for showing interest too and despite any "rust" I think you'll be just fine here. As far as a specific "weapons" engineer though I am not sure. You have a valid point about not being defenseless but I don't know if they would send someone that has that as a primary expertise. Now, expanding on your idea, someone who is an expert at Terran survival skills, possibly with a prior military or security contractor background, and has been studying the ecosystem on Gilese from a survivability aspect for years would be more like it. This kind of person could very well be a weapons expert and could have been pulled in to help the PCC develop defensive countermeasures and weaponry that would work within Gilese's atmospheric and gravitational confines... that would be good to go. Gilese has actually been studied by a good many probes and such so they have a good idea of what to expect (more on that soon) but there will be some X-factors that a character like that would be ideal at handling.

I will be posting an Earth history timeline and Gilese description here soon (by Saturday!) Any new notes, descriptions, or story points will be edited into the first post, so check it often. I want to load up the file with my spoken notes but I am having a tough time doing that. Anyone know a good program for uploading and linking audio files? 

I know it may be hard to put together a character without the total world info up but feel free to create what you want and if it works in the story we will add it into the world.
