[b]@King Tempest[/b]: Well I had intended for Joric to be a Varan from Asgeir who traveled to this land. He hasn't taken a side yet because he doesn't think it's in his interests and thinks it is a petty war. But he's a hero like most of my characters and so will join the people who are venturing into the mist because he feels it is a "hero's duty". Up until then he made his living by acting as a sort of bodyguard-type person who protected traders and travelers on the roads, bounty hunting (killing bandits), hunting, and sword-for-hire type of stuff. I'd say he'd be more of a Freeman than anything, though he doesn't necessarily 'own' land but he travels around the region.

Unless of course, this isn't [i]that[/i] type of roleplay. If you watch Game of Thrones, think of Bronn the sellsword.
