Despite what Christopher originally thought, he actually had been able to doze off. That's usually what happened whenever he just lied in bed while doing nothing. He dreamed very... peculiar dreams. Images of a flooded sewer flashed through his mind. The walls were disgusting, lined with resin that looked like a hive. Large, dragonfly like creatures circled around... him apparently. They landed, and began giving off a strange energy. The scene shifted, and soon he was flying over a city, heading right towards... Godzilla?! Christopher snapped awake, eyes darting from place to place. "What the hell was THAT?!" He asked. The burning sensation hadn't left him, neither had that strange glow of light in his left eye. What had he just dreamed? "It... hm... it's probably because of whatever new thing they have in the transfusion..." He still wasn't so sure of the dream. He figured he might have dreamt of Godzilla since he was thinking about him before falling asleep, but why the other things? --- "So... what's this things name again?" "Mega-gui-rus. Say it with me, Mega-gui-rus." "Alright alright, sheesh. Give me a break when trying to pronounce these things names!" Two people observed the insect queen from above. She appeared to be sleeping. "Hey, didn't this thing get its ass fried a few years ago? How do we even have one of these?" Steven, the other guy, explained. It was true that the original Megaguirus had been fried by Godzilla's atomic breath, but like all insects, it had laid eggs. These eggs hatched, producing a new batch of "meganulon", the nymph stage of what had the potential to grow into Megaguirus. Among the new brood was the one more fit to become the new queen. "So," said Steven, "Queen gets chosen, drones go to work and repeat the same process to allow the queen meganulon to grow into what you see now." "Where did they get the energy?" "Think you idiot! Jesus, Harry.... the meganulon drones sapped the energy out of several nuclear reactors in Tokyo, as well as from more common power sources like electrical stations. Eventually they sucked energy out of Godzilla again." Megaguirus's wings shifted a bit as her pincers opened and closed. "You'd think he'd learn to protect himself against the little bastards, though..." "They were more clever about it this time, is all." "Oh." Megaguirus screeched, her eyes glowing red as she awoke fully. She spread her wings and attempted to flap them, only to find restraints prohibiting such movement. She thrashed about.
