I did have this idea of the Sentry being a Kryptonian Clone modified as part of a modern day Doomsday Project to try and replicate a being that could protect the world from Superman and his kind should they return to conquer. He will/has became a good guy and treated like a true kryptonian by Superman's standards.

Unless we can't heavily change backstories to such a degree.
