GEARs, light vehicles, trucks, or a mixture of those types. The GEARs could be 'hillbilly armour' modified civilian ones, or military/paramilitary ones. The trucks could be cargo trucks or modified [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_truck]'guntrucks',[/url] the vehicles could be hummvee/[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stryker]stryker[/url]/etc equivalents. Even other helos would be fine, either purpose-built military ones, or civilian ones with gunmen - remember, the training scenario is replicating a hostile group of bandits or other outlaws, rather than another military force, so they'd likely have a mix of equipment.
