Ivy saw the puppy back away from Kyle. She knew he had said something hurtful. Kyle didn't mean to be mean, but his sarcasm often caught people off guard. Ivy bounced over to the puppy. "Kyle didn't mean to hurt your feelings. He isn't very good with people."

Kyle felt bad. He hadn't meant to hurt the shifters feelings. He had meant his words as a compliment. He thought it was great that there was someone beside Ivy greeting everyone. He was use to his sister being the only one.
