I agree with everything you said re: Avatar and fillers, Rex! Automatically going into world shaking plot events etc wouldn't have near the impact it'd need if the characters and world weren't fleshed out and developed, but some fillers eps are just... idk. You can tell what's meant to be filler and what's not, and it just feels more interesting to me in shows if more episodes had more impact on the actual plot or something. Hahaha.
