Name: Domino Black Age: 25 Appearance: Social Status: Well-known and well-liked for his reliability, but he is extremely poor and hungry all the time. Relations: No family or friends except his Guardian Angel, Fang. He is on good terms with various businesspeople around town, but they wouldn't be 'friends' per se. General Activity: When he is on a case, he spends a large amount of time pursuing and analyzing leads. Off the job, Domino is usually tidying the office (which is also his house.) Abilities: Domino isn't a magic user by any means, but his link with Fang allows him a very limited means of telepathic communication with her. It's not often used in favour of actually speaking with each other, but if Domino's life is in immediate danger (and only when he is in immediate danger,) he can 'summon' her to him from almost any place (unless she is somehow detained or prevented from getting to him, she can teleport to his side. See her CS for more details.) Equipment: At his office, Domino has access to a large stash of weapons owned by Fang, a safe full of his meager life savings, and a rather plain two-seat Coupe that he drives everywhere. It isn't on purpose, but thanks to Fang's forgetful nature, there is usually at least two or three various guns kicking around in the car. Personality: Domino is a cynic and a Deadpan Snarker at all times, with no exception. No matter how tragic or uplifting the situation, Domino will always be there to level the playing field. He loves to single out bad ideas and poke fun at people who are overly dramatic, including himself when the mood takes him. He gets along well with the lower class working stiffs of the world, but can easily get under the skin of important people. His other passion is cleanliness, and to that end, he is almost completely obsessive. He can't abide dust on his desk, stains on his clothes, or bits of mold growing anywhere near him. It's not uncommon for him to have a brush, rags, and spray cleaner in the trunk of his car 'for emergencies.' This is the only time that he gets overly involved in anything, and it isn't too far off from being described as 'mania.' Biography: Domino's first brush with demons came when he was just a small child. After wandering out past the outskirts of Kenan, he was assaulted by a rabid Surface Demon, hungry for any essence he could find. Domino ran, but the demon was able to quickly overtake him. Thankfully, the demon was shot dead before the child was hurt. A passing guard had found them, led to the scene by a small winged girl. That young girl was Fang, the Guardian-Angel-In-Training who was to be assigned to Domino himself. That day was a defining moment for the both of them, and the two of them were together from then on, when Fang was not in training. Domino grew older, and, lacking a job or any real work ethic, started to take on random favours for all sorts of people. He became a sort of odd-job gopher, mostly for people who worked in the casinoes that made the city famous. He would gather information, talk to people, retrieve money, and deliver things as needed. Like this, he build up reliability, and he was able to borrow money to move out on his own and start a Private Investigations business. He is particularly interested in cases involving angels and demons, and uses his wide range of contacts to perform any job that he accepts, no matter the cost to himself, or even if he's getting paid. Though he runs his own business (named "Neo-Noir Investigations,") and owns the building he lives and works out of (it was eventually gifted to him by a benefactor) he almost never has any spare change, and usually ends up eating instant ramen for every meal.

Name: Fang (no surname) Alias/Nickname: When on 'missions' she usually demands to be called "Lone Wolf," but nobody actually does this because she works with a partner and it makes no sense. Age: 25, the same age as Domino. Appearance: Fang's wings are fairly small and plain, and she usually keeps them hidden, but she can fly when she has to. They are a pale grey colour, very close to white, but are otherwise unremarkable. Social Status: Fang is a pure angel, trained in her specific class, which makes her fairly high on the angelic hierarchy, but she is not well-regarded at all by her peers. Her obsession with human culture and her lackadaisical personality tends to get on everybody's nerves, and most consider her to be way more human than she is an angel. Relations: None in particular other than her charge, Domino. General Activity: Anything to pass the day by. She loves most facets of human culture that she can sink her teeth into, and most would consider her an 'otaku.' She loves manga, anime, airsoft, and music the most, and she's usually goofing off within the realms of one of these hobbies. Abilities: Fang is a Guardian Angel, and she possesses magic related to that task. She can cast basic shielding and defensive magic, although rather than training this, she instead spends most of her talent developing her skill with guns and other weapons, and these skills are more potent than her rather weak magic. Her most unique ability, however, is her ability to transport to Domino's side, under a few restrictions. Domino has to be in immediate and potentially fatal danger, in which case he calls out to her telepathically. If she chooses to warp to his side, the essence which is usually dedicated to absorbing damage from him instead allows her to jump immediately to his side. This means that she can no longer take damage for him and has to actively stop whatever is threatening him, or else risk his death. Equipment: Fang possesses a fairly impressive collection of various firearms, ranging from pistols and small arms like Mac-10s to AK-47s, and it's even rumored that her secret weapon is a black market grenade launcher, though nobody has ever seen it. She is able to get a wide range of guns through Domino's 'business partners' (as a substitute for cash payment, or in lieu of a bribe) and this is usually the reason why the two of them have no money for food. Her most prized weapons, that she always carries, are a pair of Taurus 410 'Judge' shotshell revolvers. These weapons are extremely powerful at close range, and she shamelessly uses her angelic strength to dual-wield the pair of them frequently, because doing so is way more flashy and exciting. Personality: For an angel (and really for anyone) Fang has a terrible personality. She is childish, easily distracted, and totally lacks work ethic or focus. She can dive for hours on end into a movie or a military simulation, but has difficulty holding a serious conversation for too long. Though she is fairly intelligent and knows a lot of things, it's easy to assume that she's a complete moron, due to her inability to grasp complex concepts, and her general air of cluelessness, but people are frequently surprised by the fact that she actually knows things sometimes. Biography: Fang was raised much like any angel, though she was always fairly aloof about her lessons and lectures. However, at the age of thirteen, she was on a short trip to Kenan, where she felt a cry for help coming from a human close by. Panicked, she ran off in that direction and called for a soldier to help her. After killing the demon that was attacking the young boy, the incident was reported to the council, who made the decision to instate her as the boy's Guardian Angel (since they thought she didn't have much talent for anything else.) Three years of training later and she became his fully-fledged Guardian. The last nine years of her life were spent helping Domino out however she could, and keeping him safe whenever he engaged in more dangerous work. When he moved into the Neo-Noir (shortened to NN or NNI) she moved in with him, and they've lived together ever since. She vaguely knows that Domino sometimes interacts with demons, and disapproves of this greatly, but as far as she knows, it isn't often enough to worry about.
Miscellaneous notes on the pair: -While there will be some romantic tension between the two of them, because romantic tension is a quick and dirty avenue to quirky dialogue, they're not really romantically involved. More like lifelong partners. The kind of friend who you just know if you both hit 40 and aren't married yet, you'll marry each other just to say you did it. -I can go totally indepth about the contents of Fang's gun closet if somebody wants, but for the sake of moving the narrative along and to save myself some time and trouble, I've purposely kept it a bit vague. -For the purpose of tracking on the website, both Domino and Fang are at home in Kenan right now.
